California Gardeners' Succulents

Santa Cruz, CA(Zone 9b)

any body have a good companion for a 2ft tall jade plant in a corner. I've got hens and chicks but they don' particularly go together.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Wonderearth, I would suggest something a little more "substantial" than hens and chicks, which are better appreciated up close...how about senecio mandraliscae?

NICE---is that an 8" pot?

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

I think it looks like 8", it's a good sized plant.

wow cool!

Very pretty, Sue. Is that Blue Wave?

I was thinking about you yesterday, SW. I saw this plant, too bad you do not live close. I think they were $11.99. Sue, did you notice them hanging?

Not sure what this one is Kell, a gibbiflora hybrid of some type, very thick stiff petals.
No, I didn't see that one, must have been looking down too much plus my Mommy wanted to get going, it was so cold outside.

Guess who bought a Medusa's Head plant? DH that is who. He is so pleased because it has a little baby in the same pot.
I'll take photos tomorrow.
Kell, I don't know what it is, but it sure looks neat! I wonder what the flowers will look like?

Which one are you talking about SW? Sue's pic or this one is supposedly a Medusa's head. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6273576

SO funny Luz, Sue an d I were at Longs on Saturday. Were you there then? Then I went back on Sunday and bought way too many pots. They weven had their clay and black grower pots half price. I bought tons of blue ceramics and now after spending a fourtne on them for several years, I am not sure i still like them. LOL

Are you going to the show Liz or Janet? Sue and I were there yesterday and I went back today. I am so beat. I am too old for such adrenalin rushes. Sue and I were in succulent heaven. Busiest booth there. The show is not as big or good as in years past. Only 2 displays that were really special. And not as many plant vendors. Less orchids and I didn't see any real different ones, not that I have a clue about orchids. But I still went back today.

And guess what! Tomorrow I finally get to go to HMB Growers Exchange. I need to do like the feds and start printing up some money ASAP. I am so out of control. I may have to move out come credit card day of reckoning. The older I get the less I can just say NO!

The show had several vertical gardens, the latest hottest thing. I love them!

I am a sedum addict. Here is a mini mini one they had that I have never seen before. I grabbed it. I am going to add it to my semp pot.

Yes, I was at Long's on Saturday...I wonder if we were there at the same time and didn't even realize it? I did my usual round of nurseries, started at Grand Lake Ace, then Longs, then Berkeley Hort, then Annies.

I'd like to go to the flower show this weekend but I have had a migraine for like 5 straight days now so I'm going to have to see how I'm feeling...if I'm doing better then I will definitely go but otherwise I may need to sleep. Work has just been too stressful lately, it's killing me!

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Oh man, I'm drooling! Ecrane I feel for you, I have a mega migraine right at this moment, can't even read all the posts....

Well, maybe a new thread that runs a little faster will help!

Love the little sedum!

No, I'm not going to the garden show---it's a long drive, and I've done enough damage to my budget for a few weeks with my foray last Friday and the 2 online orders I placed this week, one of which has already arrived. I have too much stuff waiting to be planted already!
