I know that minneola's are a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit and what I think I see is a whole section right in the middle of the tree that has smaller leaves and small yellow/orange fruits that are sour as can be. I assume that something has gone wrong at the graph but my question is what should I do about it?
Minneola seems to have new growth that has tiny grapefruits
If you're sure those fruits are ripe, then I'd take a close look at where that branch is coming from--if it's coming from below the graft then it's the rootstock plant not the one you want, so you should cut the branch off at its base (and keep an eye out for any further sprouts from below the graft--the rootstock plant is often more vigorous and will take over if you don't prune out the sprouts on a regular basis)
Thank you. I wasn't sure if I should prune or not. As soon as this rain lets up I will do that.
