Horrific..beyond words..

WE AS CHRISTIANS WILL BE FINE IN THE END. BUT WE KEEP PRAYING FOR THOSE IN NEED. IF YOU HAVE A NEED, POST IT. WE'RE PRAYING. IT MAY SOUND CRUEL BUT I'M PRAYING FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Prayers, Prayers, and more Players. The whole world is in shock with us, and all we can do is pray. They have just called out CDC teams for biological warfare implications.

And, prepare. This could happen anywhere, from any small burg to the metropolis areas that get the coverage the terrorists obviously want. How many of us have enough water, and food, and fuel if our facilities are crippled?

Portland, OR(Zone 8a)

JSS...Thanks for your words of caution about jumping to conclusions, spreading rumors and fear...also when responsibility is determined, if in fact this is a terrorist attack...lets remember that we are a country made up of people from many places...that our neighbors or workmates may have been born in this place...but they are our friends and one of us now...racial and ethnic hatred is evil. Strength to us all. Dee

Praying for those people!

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 5b)

It truly grieves me to hear of the loss of so many lives. May the victims and their familes be in our prayers. This is truly such a horrible tragedy for them to suffer.

I do hope that this finds all of my friends at DG safe. It would truly be heartbreaking to lose just one friend from here to such a horrible and senseless act of violence.

A local radio station made the comment that this is the "Pearl Harbor of the Twenty-First Century". A very sad but accurate statement indeed. Unfortunately, as a nation, the effects of this are going to have a far reaching effect on our nation.

I do hope our nation can come together as one people and help the families of this tragedy through this terrible time of pain.

My heart just breaks for these people,
Sharon

Thanks to those of you who wrote who don't live in this country. It just goes to prove that we all belong to one world, and what's done to one is done to all and felt by all.

Doing what we can at home...And praying. All we can do is pray? Yes - and we're doing so. I believe there's a God who loves us, and I'm turning to my God in absolute shock and grief for what's going on.

Besides praying, we can also donate blood. Lets all head to the blood bank for we don't know if blood may be needed in our own areas someday. Everyone, head to your nearest blood bank and donate.

Yes, we have to get food for the soul , but we must continue living & as Darius point out, it's good to store some food, always to be prepare.
As a person connected with food, the items to store are thing that do not perish and can help to prepare lots of things: flour, rice, pasta , if possible dry beans and lentils (they keeps for months if not years), it's easy to find recipes and they're good source of protein, sugar, milk powder, oil etc. It is not good to rush, but it takes a little planning to start and maintain this as a way of living.

This people must learn that above all, the rest of the world are not going to stop in fear, but continue forward helping each other
From the south of Chile,

I just can't believe what's happened. Here in England we heard at 2 p.m. our time and people are just stunned. we''ve watched the horrific news unfolding in shops, and everyone is soooooo shocked by all this horror. Our prayers and sympathy are with you all atthis terrible, terrible time.

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

When I saw the initial reports I really thought it was a "War of the worlds" type hoax. My next thought was that we are at war. And that is true. We are at war and are not prepared for it and do not know the face of our enemy. How do you defend against an enemy that has no face? We must remain calm and not strike out at shadows but we must also heighten our defenses and our intelligence abilities if we are to ever put a stop to this type of attacks. We have a mighty nation and many would like to see us panic and falter. This is not going to happen! We shall grow stronger in the face of adversity not weaker. I do not know who first said it but we must "Pray for Peace and Prepare for War"

Brownville, NY(Zone 4a)

For the updates on these threads, I think it would be a good idea to specify where these events are taking place (malls closed, etc) because it can be a bit alarming to read something like that and not understand where it's happening....or maybe I'm just a dolt..... : )

I have no idea what is open or closed in my area since all channels have switched from local to national news.

Pray for Peace and Prepare for War! I believe the war has begun, using our own commercial airliners is just too devastating to comprehend. My brother in law is stranded in DC he's a federal worker who takes the subway which is closed, here in Hagerstown it is impossible to make a call. I am a govt worker sent home at 11:00 as the plane that went down in PA was presumably headed to Camp David (too close for comfort) - A co-worker of mine has a daughter living in Manhatten, she is ok but his wife is in the Middle East on business! It's too scary to go outside, how, and when will this end? Our Freedom has truly been attacked - what an outrage to this wonderful Country!
