Daily Pics Vol. 183

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

I am taking photos from an opened window, the feeder is about 20 feet away. You can tell that the birds are looking for the location of the sound from the very noisy motor on the camera.

I've been hoping to see a yellow-headed blackbird for quite awhile. This afternoon, I finally saw ... not one; but two of them ... in with a bunch of grackles and brewer's blackbirds. I managed to get this one picture; but they flew off to another tree as I was zooming in for a closer shot.

Here's another picture of the yellow-headed blackbird; but the lighting doesn't do justice to it.

Yes, pell, I have an old swing set that I hang my feeders on and this cardinal was perched on, what I think is called, the chin-up bar.
Oh, aveads, I love your pics of the Siskins on your (?) legs! How cool!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

My Lesser Goldfinches were eating the thistle seed faster than I could keep the feeder filled.

LOL, Wow duc that's incredible!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh Duc, that is a great picture. Taking it from that angle really shows the piggies.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

The goldfinches disappeared from my feeder for a few days. It turns out that they are eating bugs in the trees instead. I saw at least two dozen land in this willow oak this morning. When that pollen falls, it's always full of nasty, biting bugs, so I'm assuming that's what they are eating. Not one finch went to my feeder.

This is a bad pic b/c it clouded over, but you'll see what I mean. There are parts of at least 4 goldfinches in the pic.

Avaeads, you're like Snow White with your little bird friends. Do they do your housework and tie bows around your waste?

Duc, fab pictures of the titmouse and wren!

GG, I don't know when I've seen a titmouse that was having a good hair day. Maybe Duc's! They always look surprised.

Love everyone's shots as usual. Here's a Robin.

Elphaba, I love the Yellow-rumped and your Blackbird and Robin look good with the newly opened leaves. My Goldfinches will disappear for a few hours if there is a cat in the area, they love eating the bugs on the shrubs too.
