Well.......I was out on the porch taking pix, and.....oops.....forgot to close the door.
It took me half an hour to catch this little guy. I have vaulted ceilings and he landed on the upstairs window ledge on the outside of the balcony, of course. I finally caught him with a trout net. He was so tired by then, when I pulled him out of the net, he just sat in my hand and rested for about 2 minutes before he took off.
Here's one of the pix I took while the other little guy was sneaking in the door.

I have been there, and spent time on Ava's feeder porch. It is one amazing place, for sure!

Ava, That little guy inside looks so cute!
Now a bird in the house would totally freak me out...not a "inside bird" person!! LOL
With the cold back we had lots of visitors yesterday, including a Caroliona Chickadee on the suet.

and of course the wood peckers...first the Downy
and then female Red- bellied.
I guess it looked so good this American Goldfinch decided to give it a try!! lol
I remember when my Mothers finches would get loose. We would look like the Keystone Cops trying to capture them.

Getting a storm here tonight, 5-7 inches predicted, so this afternoon the birds should be going crazy.

My female Anna's Hummingbird was enjoying the new feeder.

Our wind chill is 13 right now. I had to go out back and clean/refill the bird bath. Same with some feeders.
I just can't handle those strong winds,brrr.
Thanks Wallaby and Pelle. That was the cutest thing. The wind darned blew him off of the feeder. When he hopped down and stared right at me I nearly dropped the camera I was laughing so hard.

I'm beginning to get more American Goldfinch now. Today there were 8 or nine. Their beginning to get more bright yellow on them.
Here is 6 on a feeder.
They're beautiful Pelle. I'd be happy to send some of my 30 Lesser Goldfinches your way. I think word that there was a larger feeder at our house has spread.
