Hummingbird Morning Miracle

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Mom said she saw a lot of activity at the feeder on the porch early this morning. I didn't see nary a thing, well except a big fuzzy black cat, and my pup.
Twincol, am sending you a photo here of where I sit to get my photos. This is my messy back porch. Those boxes are supposed to be full of firewood. The tree in the background is an English Walnut.
I usually sit in the taller chair, but sometimes I sit in the one next to the wall. The chair is about 5 feet away from the feeder, and I use the telephoto lens, and photoshop to crop the photos.
I think patience and going out about the same times each day help get the birds used to your presence.

I didn't see the male or the lil guy with the red spot on his throat at all today. They may have eaten earlier than I was able to get out there. Usually I try to go out after I walk the dogs in the morning and near dusk because of the lighting. Today that isn't going to work. So it's a good thing somebody found her way into the green house.

Edited due to forgetfulness.

I don't know exactly how she found her way in there. Probably through a vent that doesn't close properly. Talked to YS about it, and he will climb up on a ladder this weekend for me, and attach cloth screen over the fans so I won't have to worry any more. What a great kid!
She was pretty happy about all the different flowers in bloom and visited most of them. Then she'd come and perch.

She wiped her beak on the wire a few times too, and preened a bit.

I felt sorry for her and brought the new feeder inside the green house. It took her a while, but she found it. I like the way her wings look in this photo.
I went out to close the door on the green house after I got home from picking the kid up from school, and she'd either flown out or has hunkered down. I didn't see anyone visiting the outdoor feeder either.
I decided to call it a day, and stay warm.
Can't help but wonder at what tomorrow will bring. This H.bird adventure has been full of surprises!

Wasn't able to get any H.bird photos, yesterday. Although Mom said she'd seen them early in the day. I did hear them when I was working in the green house, though.
Wasn't sure I was going to see them today, even though Mom said they'd been having turf battles in the morning.
Late this afternoon, I decided to try any way and sat in my stool and got these photos. The first is for scale.
It's that speck in the middle of the photo.

I am starting a new page for this thread. It is my hope that people will continue to enjoy the adventure of the Hummers that live here, and be willing to share their adventures with their Hummingbird friends.
So I decided to rename the new thread, Hummingbird Adventures #2.

You can find it here (if I did this right!):

It is my hope that this helps those with dial-up computer connections to continue to enjoy and participate in this thread. Hope to see you all at the new one! It's been fun so far!
