What is the cucumber my brother gave me

Hello everyone, I have just joined, so forgive me if I'm asking this question in the wrong area. Yesterday my brother gave me what he said was a Moroccan cucumber, it's about 10 inches long 6 inches round and is yellow/orange. It has a hard skin and is said to keep for about 3 months after picking. (He was told this cucumber is a young one) I have spent he morning searching the net and can not find an answer. Has anybody any ideas what it could be? Cheers Phalara

What you are describing sounds more like a winter squash than a cucumber; it has a hard skin. Perhaps search for pics of winter squashes and see if you can find a match.
