Plant tags

This is a funny article but too close to the truth in many cases:

For tags I want the botanical name, the common name, soil/sun/water requirements and any clues for best performance.

Does anyone else keep old tags so they don't forget to buy their favorites each year?

That is funny!

I have a small clay pot on my desk that I toss them in. I am not sure what my plans were for them though, just more desk clutter at this point. I think I originally wanted to tape them to a page in a binder. Now I just use PF to add to my Journal here and I can add notes with those as well as my picture of said plant. Less clutter.

There are years when I save them in piles of "Be sure to buy" and "Don't buy". Generally by spring I've tossed them or lost them.

I did the matching quiz in 1 minute two seconds. That was fun. Thanks Pirl. I'll keep going back to it. Doesn't hurt to keep our minds as sharp as we can.

I keep tags and seed packs in an album in sportcard sleeves, sorted into sections: Herbaceous Perrenials, Bulbs, Woodys, Annuals, Veggies/Herbs,
and Things I Have Luved and Killed. I need to do this because my mind is a sieve. This way I don't have to pretend to remember anything.

I like the advice..."tropical plants prefer temps that are warm"

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

That is a great tag--I always got a kick out of the ones you find at Home Depot labeled as "tropical foliage", but the "green plant" definitely has those beat! Unfortunately without knowing what it is or really how to take care of it the "green plant" will probably turn into a "brown plant" in fairly short order! LOL
