I was surprised to wake up to an inch or two of snow. Went in to NY, they didn't get rain or snow. Took my daughter to visit the Tisch Ceter at NYU. Anybody have any feedback?
I can feel Spring!!
snow again on sunday dave
Hoping to stay on the rain side of the line for this storm that is coming Sunday. Today is warmer than yesterday already and hope to see a little more melting begin again.
Supposed to go to 41 degrees today, and snow tomorrow changing to rain - up to 42 degrees tomorrow.
-9 degrees here, weather says it's gonna snow from tonight until Monday.
threegardeners, where is North Augusta relative to Ottawa, Thunderbay, and Toronto?
Just a hair SW of Ottawa, 5 hours NE-ish of Toronto. We don't get the lake effect warmth that Toronto gets and Ottawa is usually warmer than us on account of the Rivers.
Spring? I've heard of it - - -
we appear to be between clippers here, might get up to 30 today, but then we're in for a plummet. We did have a melt down a week (2 weeks?) ago and you can now see that there's a garden bench out in the side yard, but no foliage. I do know that the H. niger has blooms under the snow because the dog dug some up - helpful fellow that he is.
OMGosh! Do you know Ottawa is supposed to be the 2nd coldest national capital in the world? Only the capital of Mongolia is suppsoed to have worse winters! I mean, even Moscow is warmer (and think of how many armies have been defeated by Russian winters!).
So you must be a particularly hardy bunch in North Augusta, if you refer to the "warming" effects of the rivers in Ottawa ^_^
All of a sudden I feel colder...
Well, you should feel proud! How many can endure what you put up with each winter? Think of all those Canadian "snow geese" who flee to Florida . . . but you? No! You are made of sturdier stuff! Mere winter can't defeat you!
^_^
Kryptonite?
many of the canadians i've known use sherrie' s suggestion although that could be a british colony deal as the aussie's, kiwies, and s. african's are alike in that regard. also funnny as hell :)
We were a British colony.
And we're VERY funny.
Re the whether, I don't mind a little snow now and then, but at this time of year the highways are awful from all the salt. The white lines are gray, the asphalt is gray, the sky is gray, the yellow lines are gray, and all the grimy cars are gray too.
I was smart, I bought a gray car...
correction british colonies that speak with an accent - aye mate
LOL Lee Anne!!! I'll bet she has an accent!!! ROFL!!
Canadians don't have accents! Well, except for Newfoundlanders, and those in Quebec...but not the rest of us...nope...
We often ignore that we're the ones with the accent.
Although, was in Florida when I was a teen, a waitress knew I was Canadian after about 4 words...
Aye - what's that 3g - being from boston i do not have an accent
Don't believe it.
Not as long as we stay in Massachusetts Bill. :)
Hmmm...I wonder if our "eh" evolved from "aye"...
ay-yup, it's a possibility. :)
No axents here.
ayuh!
Where is American English spoken correctly? Minnesotta? Missouri? CT is pretty close.
don't forget Boston!
Western New York - I have that on authority from a professor of accents
You guys are too funny
Victor, I beg to differ, when in Maine... you stood out my friend. lol
I disagree that we drop our Rs. We just don't hit you over the head with a hard R. Oh and we certainly don't add them where they don't belong. :)
Hey pixie glad to hear from you, especially if it is to zing good old Victor. You must be feeling better ay? LOL
Everyone tells me I sound like I'm from southy! I don't know why I grew up in the lowell area so I think it is a lowell accent! lol
Sorry, but the rest of the world (outside NYC) talks funny.
