After reading Dallasdad's posts about his baobabs I eventually decided to buy myself some. I got the adansonia grandidieri variety. I gave one to my boyfriend to take care of and I planted 2; there are 10 seeds all togehter so we are ok. my boyfriend planted his on Monday and by Friday it was poking through the soil and on sunday it had it's first set of leaves. Mine are still sitting there mocking me.
I've read various techniques on planting them. I boiled one for 5-7 minutes, I soaked one for 2 days and my boyfriend cut the skin slightly and soaked his for 3 days. I planted them in half sand and half soil. I'll post a picture when I get on at home next.
Has anyone else got any experience of growing them?
Thanks
Baobab
