ooo...lucky you!!!
What are your non-gardening hobbies? - Part 2
You can borrow him to deliver your last meal.
You were willing to let him go the other day!
Yeah, she can keep him for awhile.
Hee hee.
Well, Victor, I think I pronounced myself and me(can't be too sure) dead at the end of that meal. I love corned beef also, made reubens last night for dindin. Yumm!
Venu209 that is so beautiful!!! I luv the colours. Sorbets are still done. I hope they will become trendy and then we will be able to have them everywhere.
Very nice, Weeze. Stepping stones for the garden?
Sorbet palate cleansing should be on the 20 year turnaround, like bellbottoms.
& thanks for the comp on the stepping stone! I have a new winter hobby.
crosspost Victor, yes stepping sone.......was that a song or a band? Or was it a rolling stone as in Papa?
wow, those are great colors!
dahlianut - so glad you like. I wish I could afford to eat there all the time! and I love the supporting local farms - in a state like Vermont I figure that's real important! and it makes the menu change depending on what's available. mmm, variety
Haven't had fingerbowls but warm, moist finger towels are cool.
Venu, Very nice job
ummm, I remember being in an Indian restaurant where one was presented with warm towels to clean the hands...or to wipe your mouth of the lemon sorbet ;)
Thank you Dave!
I haven't seen finger bowls since I was a child as the home of my grandparents' very formal friends. Luckily I was shy & just looked until they were used. My kids would have said 'whazzat!'
I use them for crab feeding frenzys. Shower curtain table cloth. Bibs for everyone and let the melted butter fly! It's chaos.
DN.. I can make a killer creme brulee!
any dessert that involves tools just has to be cool!
Do you do the blow torch thing? My DH has asked me not to try that. He knows me too well sigh.
I believe the song was "I'm not your steppin' stone" by the Monkees, who used to be one of my non-gardening hobbies back in the day! "I'm a Believer" takin the "Last Train to Clarksville" with "Saturday's Child" on a "Pleasant Valley Sunday".
I loved those boys! Watched their tv show all the time. and I liked Mickey Dolenz the drummer.
Martha
Thank you Martha! I knew it was a song, just couldn't place it. The Monkees, now that brings back memories :)
have to use the torch ... I bought a small one that was meant for the kitchen... it was garbage... Randy bought a tank that is about a foot high... and works great
You get those packaged wipes with your lobstah dinnah around here. A descendant of the fingerbowl and towel, I would think.
Also, I have only ever seen the chefs on TV use the industrial, toolbench type torch to do the caramelizing thing. If you would be a great craftsman, invest in the good tools.
Martha
I also loved the Monkees, and Mickey was my favorite, too.
Great stepping stone! I have just the place for a few of those! Loved the dessert menu from the bistro, & I'm not much of a dessert eater. We usually only get up as far as WRJ, & head for Mascoma Lake, or our friend's farm in Plainfield, NH.
Mascoma is beautiful!! Go by it often
Love the stepping stone Louise, if it plays music or not...lol
My sil LOVED the Monkees.
Anyone see Hell's Kitchen last night??
Peter Tork fan. Doofus with dimples. He made me laugh.
I went to college with Peter Tork's brother. He had a lot of angst.
It's nice to talk about monkeys that aren't involved in viscous assaults
Dave,
that whole thing was way weird! And not just the assault part. Ewww!
Martha
The chimp must have reached the age where the neighbor was seen as a threat. Different bands do attack each other in the wild, especially males after others' young.
Yes, they were a bit too close for comfort.
Sherrie, your looking too hard for Spring!
Thet bathed together!
The monkey and his owner bathed together? I thought the filet mingon and lobster tails was crazy enough.
He knew that woman he attacked--she had a stuffed toy for him, because he had been anxious all day---he also had Lyme disease & was probably given Xanax, which made him more agitated! Quilter---my DH's family has a camp on Mascoma---nice place for our son to have his summer vacations when he was small. Sherrie---our friend's farm is on River Rd.---Mac's Happy Acres---they own the dairy for MacNamara's milk. A daughter, Anne, has many greenhouses at River Edge Farm---lovely plants & produce! Plus--pick your own strawberries!
I think the 'relationship' may have gone even further.
yuk, Victor.
The thing I get sooo angry about is why people think it is cute or cool to keep large wild animals in their city or suburban homes. It is a terrible injustice to the animals and threatens the lives of the people that may come into contact with them. I JUST DON'T GET IT. Let them live in the wild where they belong and get me get off my soap box!
