What are your non-gardening hobbies? - Part 2
Me too!
Crab cakes, anyone?
Did I mention that eating was one of my favorite non-gardening hobbies? except when I am snacking on sugar snap peas in the garden?
A restaurant here in Saugus, Out of Asia, has beautiful, delicious crabcake. I love crabcake!!
Martha
Gee, Martha reminded me - how could I have forgotten that eating is one of my favorite non-gardening things too? Forget the crabcakes - make mine chocolate cake! Or chocolate cookies, or chocolate ice cream...
I'm not sure eating qualifies as a hobby. Maybe amateur hot dog eating contest is a hobby, otherwise it is just something we like to do (morning glory muffins, scones, flourless chocolate tortes...mmmmm). And that would be a whole lot of threads :)
Good idea. Why not start a favorite foods thread, Eve? Flourless chocolate?
"...I'm not sure eating qualifies as a hobby..."
Hmm, you haven't been around my family....
:)
Definitely a passion for me!
Chocolate isn't a hobby. It's a food group.
I'm absolutely interested in anything flourless, as DD#1 and possibly DD#2 have celiac disease and cannot eat wheat.
oh you guys... definitelllllyyyyyy chocolate is a forbiden hobby for me... :(
I love scrapbook ... but I have not done in years... with digital pics it seems that I don't need to do it... but I miss not having some albums to look ...so I am starting 2 this week... my graduation and my last 11 years on my old job...
I love quilting... have not done a quilt in 7 years... but I am almost ready to start a denin quilt - some friends have given me old jeans and I will make a frienship quilt using at least one back pocket from each pant... hope to start by next fall ... and do it during the winter... maybe!
I also love to read... I just finished Inkheart... so cute... and before that I read "The Shack" - oh I love it...
Kassia, you're a quilter? Me too! It takes me forever to make one, though. I'm under some pressure these days because I'm making my daughter a double wedding ring quilt for her wedding in June, and the back will have signed blocks from guests instead of using a guest book. A denim quilt sounds fabulous, should be very sturdy and comfy. My other passion is rocks....carved rocks, rock walls, rock figures, whatever. One of my prized posessions is a little onyx turtle from the Turtle Back Zoo in NJ I got when I was 6. Maybe in a previous life I worked on the pyramids, who knows?
Take a look at the sewing/quilt forum. There are so many wonderful people there with all kinds of helpful hints. It's a great forum!!!!!
or vodka. Gives them a little kick.
Thanks Sherrie. We don't have them often (probably because they are too dry) but I'll try it.
I've never tried deviled eggs. Good with heavenly hash?
D.Eggs are a devilish good snack.
I'll have to check them out.
I have them with devils on horseback. Served with Corpse Revivour #2.
Hangover special?
Tee hee ; )
victor beware of the deviled eggs - they are good - although for some they are a natural gas producer with excellent "locker room" quality
Now I really want to try them! Good with beer?
Excellent with beer. Pickled eggs with beer even better.
Sounds yummy.
my mother made a big batch of them last week at a family get together - brothers wife almost exiled him from their bedroom
I suppose she was not poofter-laden?
did not get into the details - glad i only had a couple - i would have been exiled
Alternative energy source?
the cost of the filter would be prohibitive
Not to mention the muffler.
ROFLOL
Love deviled eggs--they are a summer staple here, & no one has ever complained! But we do eat a lot of fiber, so maybe there's no effect! Sorry about the celiac, Carrie---someone in our town has a support group going, so it must be fairly common. A friend's DD had it---expensive to buy gluten-free products. Drumlin---would love to see the quilt you are sewing.
