This much loved money plant has developed tiny white spots. It was recently re-potted, after 10 years, into a larger pot. Since then it's developed tiny white spots on it's existing leaves. There is lots of new growth around the stem which is deformed also with white spots. Is my plant dieing? Can you advise how best to save it? Many thanks
Sick Money Plant
Your plant is a Crassula Argenta. If the spots are cottony it could be mealy bug.If they are hard it could be scale. The first thing I would do is handwash the leaves.Sometimes they develop harmless spots just from splashing or other cultural practices.
I forgot to mention powdery mildew. These plants are very tough. If kept in bright light, grown on the dry side and given good air circulation.I'm sure you won't lose your plant.
Hey Ibrabec, thanks for your speedy reply. Will give my Crasulla a loving, gentle wash & see what happens .....
Many thanks, Andrea
If you need more information and pictures do a search for 'Jade Plant'.There seems to be more info. under the nickname.

Hi Lynn, Thanks, again, for your advice. Very much appreciated. She's doesn't appear to be getting any better though. Mind you, they're pretty tough plants by all accounts. When I found her(?) she was was just a bare stem in a broken pot.
Once again, thanks very much for your time. Spring's here in London (at last). Hope your garden's growing .............. Andrea
Andrea,
I'm not sure what the problem is then.Is it still actively growing? Are any leaves dropping? You might try posting on the cacti and succulent thread.Someone there may know what it is.
Lynn
