My sister and I are splitting an order in the next few days and she is getting rasberries, and blackberrys. Neither of has grown them before. They will be sent bare root. Can they be put in containers if the weather is still too cool to plant them out? and how warm does it need to be? we are in zone 4.
Thanks
Rasberrys
If you don't get an answer here, try posting the same question in the Fruits and Nuts Forum. You may get better responses over there.
I'd have thought you could put them out - provided they are hardy to your zone of course.
I would pot them until your ground warms enough to dig it and not freeze again. It is still to early to plant in the ground. Normally you plant berry bushes in the fall and early spring. They say fall is best though.
