Thank you everyone for the birthday greetings.
What beautiful images you have all put up. Jo Ann with the cool greens of the northeast, the two "P" gals with gorgeous shots of Iris (that surprising isn't it:) JD, if you keep posting pretty primulas like that I might actually get some. Sharon and Mamasita, you must be the hot ones with those bold and beautiful reds. Zuzu......is that a cyclamen?? Now that IS a surprise!

Thanks, this forum has become a favorite visit!

And you are a favorite of ours.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Aw shucks, thanks Pirl. I'm making another one ;)

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Now, Louise, you know better than to expect me to be surprising. It's just another rose, Else Poulsen, but that bloom really does look like a cyclamen.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I really did think it was a cyclamen. I was trying to see the foliage and thought it had the mottled leaves of a cyclamen. My first thought "jeez, she even has great cyclamen" But I'll bet you do have great cyclamen.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Gee, now that you mention the mottling, maybe I should have pretended it was a cyclamen. Mottled leaves on roses are not at all cute or desirable.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

They'd be ok if they were mottled like cyclamen. Unfortunately mine are mottled like blackspot. This year the big guns are coming out. I'm going to try a couple of Dr. Don's recipes that I have tucked away. And I'm going back to Messenger. I know Dr Don would argue that point, but they did seem much better overall with the M. Where is the Dr anyway?

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Beats me. He was always here only in fits and starts, though.

I have a ton of Messenger that I've bought through the years and never used. I might try it this year (I say that every year).

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I do remember you saying you would use it. Many times. ;)

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

I have two storage rooms full of things I might try this year -- every year.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

See what you do for fun thread.

Yes, there are supplies for mosaics in my storage rooms, Louise. I also have all the supplies to paint a big rooster mural on the side of my garage and sprays of flowers on all the garden benches. Now if I could just quit work and have an extra minute or so to spend on some of these things.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I thought it was a cyclamen in that photo, too !

Thank you Mike, I've been redeemed.
