My house is crazy tonight.Rick came home from work sick and is having issues with a bucket,I can't even stand to stick around to see if he's ok.All I can do is walk around with the can of air freshener and spray.

That cat is having issues with ghost I think,she's walking around growling and hissing at things that ain't there.

I feel so alone here....LOL

When I was going for the epidurals they put me to sleep. This was a pain clinic. They even deadened where they put in the iv so it wouldn't hurt! I need to go back. Some days I can walk and stand some, and some days I can't!

I really like the Sistahs site where we can see each other. I got a mike today and drug out my webcam, now to see if it works! I'm eager to learn clay from Dusty! Oh boy, what Betty can do with this!

I absolutely look all the cat pictures and yes, my sister could probably get you in touch with a good cat therapist!! She is the ultimate cat lady--even has holistic treatment for her 20 year old diabetic cat!!! Thank good I am normal--I think.

Joyce and Stacey, A woman on the animal forum has a thread about her feeding wild raccoons. She said her company is begging for help. They might hook you up with a job in your area, MAYBE. It's called The Heidi Chronicles. I don't know if all these jobs require relocating or not, and I'm sure neither of you want to do that! Just a thought!

i'm here. have had a migraine since wednesday evening. was up all nite worrying about the hurricane. something just ain't right.
but i did get here enrolled in nursery school. she starts monday.

Not alot of time to chat today Im busy running and making calls as well as doing an inventory on what we can sell to make money.. There seems to be a problem with my friends tax refund and they cant fiure out where it is.. The irs says its waiting in the bank to be deposited and the bank says they have no record of it.. Mortgage company called today and I explained what we were attempting but the lady was a pain in my butt. Very unfriendly..

Kathy so sorry to here about your migrain.. I have been waking up with headaches but I asume its a combination of the weather shifts and the stress. Whats going on with your GD?

Donna, if you e-file your taxes you can get the refund almost right away. Our Credit Union let's us file for free if e-filed and I can do it on my compouter from home. I have a friend who filed last week and has refund in hand (or deposited at bank).
I wish we all could help you more with the mess you are going through with the house. You have done everything asked of you and things just keep being in limbo. Know that you have our support and good wishes and keep doing what needs to be done.

Is the coffee still hot? Turnovers left? Sure hope so.

Been up but had something that had to get done this morning and I have the "slows". I think I have gotten the "crud" from Kim or just another bout with sinus. Bummer, right here at the weekend too.

Lisa, I don't get sound on my computer so I didn't try to check in--it is going to have a "dusting and cleaning" so maybe that will fix what is causing the problem.

Ok, we have had winter now it is time for Spring and Summer. I had a solid bowl of ice in a fountain on the upper deck yesterday at 2! Must have gotten cooooold here.

Back to finishing up my chore from earlier.

Kimmy left today and I am so sad... I miss her already... I wanted to tell you that the horses are beautiful... I am going to go out today and by my present for the Valentine swap.. I have some things but I want to get the candy part... I also joined the Birthday swap.. I joined one and no one ever talked to me... Then I got and email from another lady and she never got an answer either it was like we were not there... Then someone finally told her they were not taking new people.. oh well I did bath that day...LOL But she also told me of another one so I was happy...

So, excuse' moi for today...going back to bed.. nothing tastes right.

Hey, Ladies... I'd say good morning... but it's almost over now...
Just getting here this morning after getting everyone off to do what they do all day away from home.

I tried a new recipe yesterday for yeast bread... haven't made yeast bread since before Thanksgiving because it just wasn't turning out right, and I just gave up. Found the new recipe, and it just seemed too simple to work... but, it was such a hit at dinner last night... sometimes, I suppose simple can be better. SO, today, I'm making the same recipe again... but letting it rise a little longer... and also changed one ingredient to change the flavor just a bit.
Here's the recipe...
4 c. flour
2 tbls brown sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tsp dry yeast
12 oz bottle (or can) room temp beer

Combine beer, sugar and salt in a bowl and microwave for 1 min... you just want it a bit above room temperature... add yeast, stir it well, then let it sit while you measure your flour into the bread machine.
Dump the flour into your bread machine, then pour in the beer mixture.
Turn your bread machine on "dough" setting...

DO NOT LET IT RISE IN THE BREAD MACHINE... it's way too much and will pop the top off the machine.

Lightly (very lightly) spray Pam in a large plastic bowl and dump the dough into the bowl... then turn the dough over so that the top is now glazed with some of the Pam. Lay a lid on the top... do not seal it, just lightly lay in on the top.

Now, leave for a couple hours... go do some gardening... go shopping... do something besides just sit there and watch it... 2-3 hours later... punch it down... get all the bubbles out of it.

Divide the dough in half, and shape each half into what ever shape you want (round, oblong, square) and place it on parchment paper. With the sides of your hands, tuck the sides under until the top looks smooth. Spray the tops with Pam again... and leave again... go do something fun.
The longer you let this rise, the better it is... 2-4 hours should be long enough.

Heat your oven to 450*. Then pick up the parchment paper (not touching the dough) and lift it onto a cookie sheet. Last night, I heated my baking stone while my oven was heating, and lifted it onto the stone in the oven. Throw a few cubes of ice in the bottom of your oven... this will create steam that will make your crust tender... about 5 mins later, throw some more ice in there. When the bread is browned on top... it's done... and soooo delicious. Takes about 15 mins to bake.

Today, I changed the recipe to use a Shiner Boch dark beer instead of the Coors Light I used yesterday... Yep, I'm still using all this stale beer that keeps my pantry cluttered.

I love homemade bread. That receipe sounds easy to follow. I need to get myself a bread machine one of these days.

Staceypoo, I was asleep. I tried to call you back. You must be running errands still.

Deborah... you can knead it yourself... I'm just a bit lazy, and let my bread machine knead it for me... I believe the rule of thumb is to knead by hand for 5-10 mins.

Really? Ok I guess that's what folks did before electricity had to do. I'm copying your receipe to save until I can get some yeast and beer.

Yep... they had to do it by hand... an BTW... any recipe you find that calls for it to just use the "dough" setting on the machine, can be kneaded by hand...
Another hint... start your dough in the morning for dinner that evening...

but, if you want to start it in the afternoon or evening... you can refrigerate the dough before the second rising, then bring to room temp and let rise the next day... like if you're expecting to fix a big Sunday dinner after church... you can take it out of the fridge, shape it into loaves, and let it rise while you're gone... when you get home from church, it'll be ready to bake.
