All winter I have been looking at the tall stalks of dead bananas. I normaly chop them down in the fall after frost and mulch them. This year, for some reason, I just didn't. So a couple of days ago, I decided it was way past time to get rid of them. Some were about 6 inches across and had to use a saw. To my surprise the center was green as could be, I thought to myself, I'll bet now they will freeze and die since our winter is far from over. what do you think?? It is to be in the 20's here by tomorrow night.
Hope I have not killed my nanna's
What are the varieties of bananas?
I don't really remember, I do think the biggest one is a Basjoo, if so it will probably be ok.
Well as long as the corm hasn't turned to mush, they will probably be just fine.
