With January gone ...
It's February - what are your plans for spring?
Thanks to Nery's fabulous photo of her Triumphator lilies, they're the ones I'm most looking forward to seeing though I'm guessing it will take another year or two before mine look as nice as hers.
I will ask her to post her photo for everyone to enjoy.
What an adorable thread! I haven't given any thought to the topic, so I'll get back to you later on that, but those kitty photos are supreme. LOL.
I planted so much last year and oddly enough its the hostas RedChick sent me that I am most anxious to see.
Patties post about her snow drops reminded me I have some so I guesss for really early sights it's the galianthus's two varieties, then the lilies emerging, the tulips with anemone blanda.
Help I cant stop.
Looking fwd. to blooms on a whole slew of new daylilies I received from a very good friend on the East Coast ! They even came with earthworms !
The roses and clematis will intigue me as they are year three. Leap! But the ones I am most anxious to see this year are the JI. Also one Magnolia tree that I hope will put up some blooms this spring. And a Camellia that is loaded with buds. And some Daylilies that ended up in NJ. And my Sambucus should make a nice show this year as it's been quietly growing. And... what was the original question?
"Leap" year, indeed. You wont be disappointed. Good things come to those who wait !
Lots of new Japanese irises here. Same earthworms, JD.
OK, shall we just say we're all looking forward to seeing Pirls plants bloom?
we are so busted !!!
OK... YES !!! LOL
As usual, I've hunted down some elusive roses and I'm anxious to see what they look like when they bloom, of course. I also have some Clematis that are going into their third year, so I'm feeling the same kind of excitement as Louise about them.
I'm psyched, the temps are going into the 40's next week with rain most days.
Hope the snow dissapeares so I can take accurate measurments of gardens I've planned .
I'd like to see if I havnt over bought. duuuuuh
No such thing. There's always room for more.
I plan to buy more seed starter kits from HD the end of this week, coleus cuttings are getting out of hand.
There's just one clematis from a 2007 co-op that I'm waiting to see bloom but there are many others I'm curious to see bloom - a small Magnolia from way upstate, the Shooting Star hydrangea from the left coast, JI's from NJ, more JI's that haven't yet been purchased but it doesn't stop me from believing they'll bloom this year, hydrangeas galore and the JI's from Eartheart Gardens. Did I mention JI's often enough?
It's snowing. Not as exciting as the first, second, third or fourth snowfalls. The more it snows the less enchanting it is.
I'm gardening.

beautiful
Thank you, Jo Ann. I love the absence of other colors in that group. Anything I might have added would have taken away from the beauty I find there.
will all those coleus go in pots, or in the ground ?
By March you'll be taking cuttings of your cuttings.
The containers are all designed,These plants will go in the ground and in some of the containers. I never thought it would be so easy. Pirl was right"take the cutting poke a pencil in the soil and water, not too much" I used to have stuff in jars on the windowsil.
Never again.
We learn by doing and making mistakes so I just passed on what worked for me.
"Learn by doing"...the best way !
