Dellrose, that bright yellow of the Meadowlark could brighten anyone's day!!
Love the Robins and that chickadee is so cute!
Here's a Tree Swallow that I got last spring. I can't wait for them to actually make their nests in the houses. They'll then sit on the railing and poles that hold the hummer feeders all day long.
Daily Pics - Vol. 176
Nice you guys!!!
I just read today that the Meadowlarks should start showing back up in February along with the Great Blue Herons. February is great for seeing Blue Bird too, at least here. I have seen the off & on and hear them. Eben heard one today. But in the next couple of weeks the will be everywhere..I can't wait!
Couple of shots of the Flicker that I put on the wrong thread...playing peekaboo!
Very handsome flicker!! He must be grooming for spring. It is coming, right?
Duc, I love the Tree Swallow; their one of my favorites!
Nanny, I'm so jealous your Flicker comes into the yard for suet!
I love the Swallows too but the only ones I have seen are the Barn Swallows. Duc I love how you got yours with an open mouth...I love to hear their chatter!
Nanny...I'm jealous of your Flicker too, wish ours would come and eat here!
I have noticed for the past few days the Red-bellied Woodpecker has become more territorial and vocal. Here is a window shot from yesterday shortly before he got into a confrontation with a Starling. They both ended up on the ground going at it! Today the Woodpecker showed up with his girlfriend and I noticed they seemed to be hanging out together. Maybe spring is in the way.....
Nice grouping there Countrymouse!
Rose, I always love your photos but that meadowlark blew me over.
Nanny, love the Flicker shots!
Great pics everyone. Glad that cardinal still has her beak!
Forgive me for sharing four pics of the same bird, but it is just not everyday that a Pileated Woodpecker comes to visit me! and a male one at that!
Elphaba, he's beautiful! All great shots, and I like the tree in the third picture too. :)
Melanie
Excellent shot of the Pileated! We don't have them in my neck of the woods.
Nice pics countrymouse!
Elphaba, Love the Pileated!
Nice American Tree Sparrow nanny!
So many to comment on, Love the Pileated Woodpecker, wishthey would come back to my yard. Great series Nanny, lots of Starlings there too!!! Nice Flicker shot too.
Rose gorgeous Meadow Lark, so brilliant.
Can't wait for those sweet Tree Swallow to show up, won't be till April here.
Enjoying your pictures everyone.
The Pine Grosbeaks seems to be intimidated by the amount of bigger birds in the yard. Starlings , Doves, and Jays. They keep their distances, they will come, but won't mingle much with them, unlike the Evening Grosbeaks.
All fantastic birds. Rose, the Meadowlark is dazzling. Elphaba, fantastic shots of the Pileated. Nanny, I love the White Throated Sparrow in the snow. The female Cardinal seems to be laughing. What were you wearing?
Wonderful selection of birds. No spring birds here yet.
Dinu interesting shot of the lovely yellow sunbird.
Havent't seen the hairy or Downy woodpeckers here for some time.
No robins yet .
Of course it is 16 degrees outside and lots of crusty frozend snow
Donna
This black kite - Milvus migrans was hovering close to our house yesterday morning and I was ready with cam. But its flight path was too quick to follow using the view finder and a 12x zoom. Thank my reflexes for having this much inside the frame the image of the bird flying very close by! I was happy about this shot in the end, given the situation! Hope you like it.
