What varieties of seedless table grape vines can I plant on an east facing slope in Encino zone 9-10 with poor adobe soil. Clives2
Seedless table grapes
I had 'Flame' at my old house--the clay probably wasn't as bad as yours and my climate's a bit different, but I think grapes are pretty tolerant. They do need a decent amount of sun though so I'm not sure if your east facing area will get enough or not. But if the area is OK for growing grapes, I don't think it'll matter that much what cultivar you pick, if the conditions you have will make one of them happy I suspect it would make most of them happy.
Clive,
If you have some spare cash I would suggest you but Sunset's Garden Book. It is the best reference book that a beginner can have on the shelf.
Sunset says Flame, Thompson Seedless, Interlaken, Himrod, Lakemont, Reliance, Vanessa, or DoVine will all grow in your area and they are all seedless.
The LA basin and other areas in SoCal were once nothing but agricultural land - mostly orchards and vineyards. You are blessed with a climate that can grow almost any kind of fruit.
