Oh a Hoary....YES!!!!!!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Drool!

Thanks for finally posting.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Actually I only found this thread tonight. Have quite a bit of Hoary this year. some are much whiter, than others. others I can only tell by the less streaking and the white rump, or the white under tail.
When the sun shines on their red patch, it's a red metallic shine, very pretty.

This Common Redpoll has a lot of red on his chest.

Thanks for your comments, for that I'm sending each one of you some. Get your Binoculars out and Cameras with big lens ready.
Expect shipment in the next few days.
PS: I didn't receive anyone addy, So sending them to each state mentioned. IN, NJ, VT, MO, IL, PA, CA. and Perth Aus. Margaret, you will have to provide a cold aviary for them. Did I miss anyone? Expect some delays, remember they have to go through custom, hope they don't get confiscated. :)

Thanks, Burn. I'll organize to have the entire yard air-conditioned. (I wish). That's a lovely shot of the one on the poshest feeder in town.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Burn... I'm in the addy exchange!!! LOL

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks Burn!

I didn't see any yesterday because I was out of town. I DID get them a new screen feeder (as I had promised).

Plymouth, IN(Zone 5a)

Mrs_Ed, would love to see pics of the new screen feeder when you get it up. I'm not sure what one of those looks like.

Melanie

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Melanie,

Your wish is my command!

Probably did not call this by the right name. It is a tube feeder with screen as the sides.

Plymouth, IN(Zone 5a)

Thank you Mrs_Ed.

Makes perfect to me to call it a screen feeder. Kind of the same idea as the sock but reusable. I like it. :) Can't wait to see all the pretty common redpolls on it! :)

Melanie

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

All welcome. Thanks Margaret, I do like my feeder and so does the birds.:))

Marna, I like that feeder a lot too. Redpolls and Goldfinches will go crazy for it.
Sometimes I'm tempted to get a few more tube feeders, but I'm afraid to do so. it's going to be a full time job, keeping them filled everyday, and the cost of the seeds unbelievable. DH bought me a 50 lb bag of thistle seeds yesterday, not cheap !!! But cheaper per pound then bulk. Save $20, by buying it that way. He's hoping it's going to last for the rest of winter, and so do I. But don't think it will.
I sure hope those Redpolls arrives for you, so you can post some of your pics. I don't want to be the only one posting here.

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

If thought that feeder would do the trick I would buy one immediatedly!! I really like the tray at the bottom.

I saw the Redpoll yesterday 4 different times but unfortunately was not quick enough with the camera. The last try I went racing through the house with camera in hand and DH just says "red top?"...LOL!! When I am on a quest he knows to just ask questions that can be answered in a hurried yes or no! I have not spotted the Redpoll today but had a Pine Siskin show up so that was a nice surprise!

Burn, Burn, Burn...the number of Redpolls (Not to mention Grosbeaks) continues to amaze!! I just love those last two shots...they are just adorable and they posed perfectly for you showing off their cuteness! I am patiently waiting for my shipment from you! Keep on posting if they don't arrive...at least it helps to get a Redpoll fix!!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I love my feeder like that one...I may buy another one.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

thanks everyone. They had a HUGE one too that was so big that I know would have been appropriate for Burn's RED TOPS. LOL.

This feeder was only 12$.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Good price!!!
Yeah the big one is what I need :))

On top of the roof.

Here's the big one… it's a combo feeder. Now that I look at it, I'm not sure if the mesh on this one is just for clinging or is large enough to allow nyjer through.
