I have some spinach growing in my room. Only a few seedlings survived, guess I was having the "damping off" problem. Added camomile tea and cinnamon to it. Also did some research on the subject. Hopefully i can do better next time.
I was wondering if a spinach plant has a life span, or will it just keep growing like a houseplant.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is... will I be able to keep my spinach plants alive indoors, or will it die after so many days.
How long will spinach plants live
Keep cutting it for salad and it'll continue to come back as long as you keep it in a location conducive to growth.
Thank you Illiniguy. I had no idea. I didn't know if that was a dumb question or not.,
I just planted some tomato and lettuce seed in some grow bags in my house. Guess I'll see if they come up. I sure hope so. I would love to be able to grow some of my own food. I think it may be important.
Not a dumb question, at all. Spinach and lettuce are like grass, keep cutting it, take care of it, and it's the gift that keeps on giving. With tomato, once the plants get to 4 or 5 leaf stage, be sure to transplant them to a place where the roots will be able to expand. They have pretty extensive root systems. It's really fun to go from seed to canning stewed tomatoes grown from those plants. Nothing better in the middle of winter.
