Tropical Garden #29

Red Oak, TX

joeswife, you have some healthy cuttings growing in your basement, that little palm is beautiful.
That is a very inviting, colorful patio, a nice spot to sit with your coffee or a good book. When is a good time to start flower seeds in my area?

sunshiinesw, I love the colors in your orchid, I am always tempted to put them in my hair, then realize that I am too old for that.

Texasbigleaves, My DH agrees with you, we are crazy to be paying such high heating bills, and the weatherman does not help when he is so off, with his weather forcast.
Lovely Picture, it is still a mystery why we occasionally get an all white leaf on the Variegated Monstera.

kukiat, thank you for sharing your beautiful flowering tree with us. That is a new one for me, I will have to do a little research to see if it will grow in my zone.

GoodMorning all, sitting here with my coffee and laptop in the basement.. listening to the water and watching the trumpets open of the Purple Queen IOCHROMA today.. Rita, I winter sow for outside planting starting in late january..
my coleus seeds are already showing their colours, my mgs and jmgs are vining, and I have forced bulbs everywhere.. I don't know what your weather is like, but if you have prenneils I would throw them out right now.. ( I call sowing throwing cuz thats what I do) but I start my tenders and annuals inside and keep them warm and moist.. all the cuttings are happy in the tubs right now, I re-potted four Brugs this am already since I had to get up to put a turkey on to roast..now they might decide to sprint into action and develop some buds..took pictures of my varigated JMGS , checked on my hibiscus cuttings that I am rooting and they are still happy.. I think I saw that succulent somewhere .. in Tropicmans house yes thats it.. Jade plant type? Here is one of my growing areas down here ..

Is that what that is called? wow, I love that! yes, you should get your passis sowed.. mine are already up and have first leaves. The start from Tropicmans' Ruby Glow is rooted and has a bunch of budding leaf shoots coming on.. my lobata seeds are now a lobata vine .. you can see the passion vines on the front and the lobata on the left backside of this pot.. I expect bud blooms soon... I can see your greenhouse would be where I would never want to leave if I were there..

sunshinesw, I had no idea that the CC got that old, I will take better care of my 3 yr. old plant now. I wanted a few new colors, I thought that they would look real pretty in a basket blooming at the same time.

I would be willing to bet that few in this hemisphere have ever bloomed. Only in Randy's Garden of Eden. Glad to know that is a ginger. Had no idea. Mine are still sort of puny.

Lots of sirens going now. Guess someone has hit the ice. Going to be a long night for some.

Yes, sirens all over here too.. big wreck a few blocks away ice and snow ontop of ice doesnot equal to safty in driving.. I have spot lights all over the basement , RJ..
