what some folks wouldn't give for a bus schedule that simple!
What weird weather we're having #10
That is what I tried telling him.....that even his 7 year old grand daughter can do the bus trip he would have to do to get to work!!!!
well, good luck with that. Maybe some day he'll try it if his grandaughter takes him on a bus trip with her??? it's a thought anyhow.
She would love it......she always rode the bus with her mother....she only gets two hours supervised visits with her mother now , so no bus rides.
well, if it were something that could be arranged.... it sounds as if it would be a treat for her and an adventure for hubby. That could work I guess.
I'll have to work on it....he can be awfully stubborn...
Red it sounds like the cocoa mulch works for you! I would personally be excited about something that kept snails & slugs in check but can't take the chance with 2 cats & a dog. I guess there is no perfect solution. :]
In Snowmass, Colorado there are some heated roads and they get wet but no snow or ice. Expensive to install but less costly in the long run with no snow removal, no sand/gravel clean up, longer lasting roads, and no sliding vehicles. Rather impossible in most circumstances but wouldn't it be great?
The best thing about living in a city is being able to walk out the door, go a few blocks, and get coffee, groceries, etc.
Hope everyone gets a little sun today!
Those heated roads are really something. We spent some time studying those in one of my engineering classes. the first one ever built, and it was a "test section" of road, was an interesting melay problems and mess-up to the extent you walked in disbelief thinking 'they actually did that mess up?" But, in the end... well worth it!
I'm Very glad that the mulch works for me as well Portland! I really pretty much love the stuff. I can't afford to buy nearly as much as I would like to, so I have just one bed where I use it regularly and it does make a big difference. I just wish that it were some magical way to figure out whose pets were going to eat and whose wouldn't so a person who know if they could use it or not. But, i'm sure glad that mine dont like it!
rc...DIL sent me an article written by a trainer that specializes in aggressive dogs. It's a word document that's 4 pages long. Can I put that much in a dmail? Did you get the dmail I sent already?
If you can fit that in D-mail Sally, I would like a copy:)
If I could I would move to Portland tomorrow!!! I love it in Portland! We have friends who live up on Hobart....don't know if I would like living up there when there is snow and ice!! The rest of the time it is beautiful at their place!
Trisha I don't know where Hobart is. Do you know the closest intersection? I love Portland. Our gardens are not at all as generous as the rest of you seem to have, and there are houses all around, but I like being in a neighborhood and sitting on the front porch & chatting with people as they pass by. I am always torn between wanting to live in the country or in the city. I do like the easy access to stuff that a city provides!
It is so cold here today and when I took Koka out for a walk I had to go back and get gloves & a hat. Brrrr.
If I can fit it, you'll get it. Just thought I'd ask if anyone knew.
Portland, I know what you mean about city living. I don't care much for crowds anymore and I love my place here. We do have neighbors and we're in the country. But we're not so close to town, can't walk down to the store kind of thing. They don't even have a decent bus system out here, in CA I traveled a lot by bus. But then I look out at Mt Pisgah or watch my feeders or the critters in the field and feel I'm where I want to be. There is plenty to do and see in Portland, we've been on many bus trips there, except I get lost everytime I drive up there. teeheehee
I am not good with Street Names.....we come in on the Train...Alan picks us up and we go west, straight UP.....if we walk up a few blocks from his house, go across a main road, we can eventually go downhill and end up at the Japanese Gardens......I will have to see if my husband has a better idea of where it is...
Sally, I just read and responded to your Dmail. Thanks again. I would love the 4page doc. I would think that you could copy and paste all of it into a dmail. But, if that doesn't work that just attaching it in a regular email and sending to my regular email would be dandy. Or was it a link to this doc. a link should be just fine of copied over into a dmail.
Tricia, I'm glad that you like A-Z as well! Yes, I know that I was really fortunate to find it at that price. As I mentioned, I tagged the webpage and checked it frequently for over a month until that price finally came along! I'm very anxious to hear what Sally and Portland think of it when they get theirs!!!!
Sorry if I missed anything. I really haven't been on much, so I'm just skimming. I hadn't gotten on this thread since I started it and I'm starting a new one! Next week should be better; today is the only day I only had the kids in the morning and with the situation they way it is I feel compelled to pack if I feel up to being on here, except in the morning.
I’m glad everyone was able to figure out how mom and I go back and forth between internet and word.
Willow, I’m a big fantasy buff myself. What do you read?
Btw… anyone know of a good home for Raggedy Ann stuff? I also have a really good large print book, historical fiction, I’d like to go to a good home.
Now here it is… and I fixed the name... sorry about that.
New Room!

Bea, what a gorgeous purple flower. I know a little of the growing weather there, I used to live in Molalla. But I'm really from southern OR.
Did you grow this lovely flower in your yard? I love purple anyway. It's so...Royal...
in reference to weird weather... the sun is shining and it is snowing here which is not that unusual for eastern Oregon. I've seen snow every month of the year here in my 63 years.
That's nuts! I would have to move! You should post that over on the latest weather thread, it will definitely get some attention. Do you have any pictures of the summer snows? it's usually really pretty! But, it's still not my thing.
Hi, Red. i've lived in the Willamette Valley-you can have it..Hubby went to Eugene Bible College back in the day. We lived down by Cottage Grove and I never had allergies so bad. Had to resort to a shot. But you do get nicer growing seasons!
lol. Yes, I have had many rounds of shots. Generally every three years I get them for a few months. However I have: dust, ragweed, and sage brush (for real---it turns me into a giant hive) allergies as well. So, I figure.... if it's all the same everywhere.... I'm here! However, I will say that Lakeview has some amazing sunrises and sunsets! I have been there on occasion while on fire assignments, and that's what I always remember.
OK folks - move on over to the new thread so I don't get lost! :-)))
lol..
I was about to start a new one, glad you said something :o)
Awwwwwwwww. That's just not fair.
and more tonight, or so they have stated.
Snow and rain for tonight and tomorrow here as well. I don't think the snow level will be low enough to include the Willamette Valley. Cold temps.
Mortswife that is a pretty pic of the rose in snow!
I did manage to get out in the yard today between rain drops to clean up a lot of twigs and trim a rosemary that has begun to look a little straggly. Does anyone have a good source for those canvas garden bags that have slots for tools that you carry around with you in the garden?
Hey - I think we're supposed to be over on the new thread........
You folks are confusing me. I had to double and triple check the thread numbers.
I meant new room - not new thread!
Portland, I think that both mean the same thing :-p Ok, at least for me they do!!
I'm just following the crowd
