What weird weather we're having #10

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

rotfl!

Eugene, OR

I just checked the temp. It's 25 deg on my deck!! Enough already. Sis called mom today, it's 90 deg down there. She lives in Bonsall, east of San Diego. Should be a way to shift it!! hahaha

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Oh wow. Is 90 normal for her this time of year? I was thinking more like 70-75 was typical.

Eugene, OR

It's santa ana winds again. Now they're worried about fires. I always got so mad when they would start saying that (about the fire hazard) on TV. It brings out all the arsonists.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

That's not good. I heard that yesterday and completely forgot about it. This time of year I can't go on any fires, so my mind just gets turned off about those things.

So as to not turn off the lights on the faeries, I'll post these in this thread

That's a great color! The only one I have is a cream color that turns to light green after it's fully open. I bought it for mom. The last thing she does on her way to bed and the first thing in the morning, is take a look outside her front door and takes a breath of fresh air. So I got it to put on her porch, something blooming in winter. She loves it!

After the thread and seeing all the other ones, I'll have to look for some more.

Eugene, OR

Off to bed for me, I've got the cabinet guy coming in the morning.

Sounds good Sally I agree. I have a Doc's appt. at 830 am. But, this was more interesting than sleep. That was such a nice thing that you did for your mom. I'm sure that she appreciates it. You'll have to get some more hellebores in different colores. They're so well worth every penny. This year the only ones that I'm going to spend money on are the slate and black flowered ones. With any luck I'll be able to find doubles. like this one. http://www.terranovanurseries.com/wholesale/popups/heloo.html

Sheeese. I'm off here for a couple of days and then a new thread pops up! LOL I'm so far behind now, DRAT! Oh well, guess I'll just go back and catch up.

I am soo sorry it is hard to come indoors and blog when you are laying on a crystal beach. The weather is somewhat warm 20C and there are no mountains here to catch the clouds and cool down the afternoon. So today I am snorkling on a reef on the south of the island. Unfortunatly the beach is a favorite for young 20 year old girls............. Montana is ugly and it is time to warp back to my doctor appointment this afternoon

Steve....keep that Doctor's appointment!!!! LOL

rc...love those black ones!

Here it is, early morning, frost everywhere. But I'm NOT going out to take pictures, it's too darn cold!! Besides, a few minutes and my fingers are frozen.

I just went back to the top and read all the great conversation, amazing stories, and viewed fab photos! I was visiting my mom, so just briefly scanned yesterday, and look what I missed. I might have to start a notebook to keep track of what amazing life story goes with what person or I'll get all mixed up.

I got this straight: redchick=tall gal with red hair. That picture of the leaf in the grass with the crystals is my favorite.

If you don't have a Facebook profile, you can create one for free at www.facebook.com.

And then join the group "Dave's Gardeners" that Rob (AnalogDog) set up for us.

Thanks for the link Katie. I'll have to check into that a little more.

Ok. so here it is, as per Tilly's request: a new thread on the "frosty stuff" in the yard. However, I didn't want it to be just my yard, so it's titled for all of us!

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/944506/

I hope that everyone joins in. Please repost the link on other threads that you go to!

Red, I LOVE that water drop picture. Submit that one to the DG photo contest, too. It's frameable.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

lol, what category would that fall into? should I title it "Steves World!"??

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

How 'bout "Through the Lookinglass"? It does capture that other world (that we all know is there) very well.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

that's a good one.Katie! And the insiders on this thread will always know the real meaning! I like it. In fact I think I'll actually go put a title on it now.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Steve, thats not real, whats up?????

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I lost you guys for a few day!!! Every so often on of my regularsites gets “unwatched” and I don’t know how or why it happens……….Grrrrrrrrrrrr…..

Shelly A to Z is a great book….I got it when I was taking Horticulture Classes and it cost me a whole lot more than $25!!!

I am ready for rain to return….I want my fire back!!! This Inversion is driving me crazy…they just closed I-5 up North of Seattle due to fog……I think our high was 38 today………

Love all the pictures…..I have always liked Frost pictures……..Starlings, we get one or two now and then but nothing like that flock!!

Too much to catch up with right now but I’ll try not to lose you again! Have to start thinking about dinner….making Potato Leek Soup for lunch tomorrow with mom’s Church Ladies……

Haven’t heard anything on her MRI yet being a holiday weekend, hopefully tomorrow….we got her a walker and she has been keeping it right with her most of the time which is good…….but she is not good at staying off her feet and behaving herself! She always has to be up doing something!!

I guess I will be happy with our weather, talked to one DG friend today and they have Feet of Snow and –0 temps, then talk to another DG friend and she has 40 degree Centigrade (around 100 degree) temperatures today!!!! Don’t really want the weather either one of them is having!!

Later!!!

Love all the pictures and comments. By the time I read it all I have forgotten what I would like to say. Except Tils, if you go off into the sunset, I will gladly go with you. Across the Mojave and through the Joshua trees. I love it. Spent two summers in Victorville and did ride out across the desert, with cowboys. My dad read all of LL also. I read fantasy.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Willow I had that problem and my daughter showed me how to have DG on half the screen and Word on the other half so I can comment as I am reading then cut and paste at the end....works great cause I don't have memory, barely remember my own name half of the time!!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

That would be great Trisha, wish I knew how to do that sort of thing on this equipment. ^_^

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

The Seychelles are volcanic in origion. Those are volcanic floes into the ocean surrounded by coral sand. Tough place to hang out huh?
