outstanding shots all

Nice shots burn! Love the Redpoll.

Well I've gotten so many European Starlings here that I've had to change things a bit.

They were somehow dumping all the seeds out of the Sky Cafe feeder (seen here in the background) all over the ground so I took that feeder down. It's a shame because that holds a lot of seed but I can't have them doing that.

Instead I put up an auxiliary platform feeder and filled it with safflower until my Squirrel Buster plus gets here.

Terrible shot here but it shows how when 2 Starlings get on the Squirrel Buster Plus their weight shuts it down and their not able to eat from it.

I also switched from peanut halves to peanuts in the shell in the one platform feeder.

pelletory, thanks for that last picture of the goldfinches and pine sisken together. When I am sitting around lazily watching the birds sometimes my brain starts beeping telling me that what I think is one bird is really another. That happened w/the Amer. Goldfinch. It suddenly dawned on me that those really weren't AGF but what? Looked it up and sure enough, Pine Sisken. Duh

Spellcheck: Pine Siskin, you'll need that to find it on BirdFiles ;-)

I get that little beep going off too1 Just standing there and all of a sudden you realize one is just a bit different maybe...

Lots of Starlings here too. Am going to cut the peanuts for a few days to see if they move on...that will upset the jays tho!

Lots of visitors the last couple of days due to the bitter cold..American Tree Sparrow

Nice pics nanny!

I put the peanut halves in the silo feeder and the peanuts in the shell in the platform feeder. I am seeing less starlings today.

I plan on putting all peanut halves in the second Squirrel Buster plus. We'll see how that works out.

Thanks Resin. :-)
