Sorry Pelle, we posted at the same time. Go ahead and finish yours, I'll come back after you.
Daily Pics Vol. 172
duc, I love the first one of the Turkey Vulture!!!
wow, great shows, ducbucln! can't believe it didn't mind you being so close.
Very cool TV pics!!
Some of our winter visitors - birds - are fairly hard to identify for me, anyway. LOL We have a lot of feeders right near our sunporch windows w/safflower seed, Black Oil Sunflower Seed and sunflower hearts and pcs. Every bird likes at least one of offerings. We get Amer. goldfinches, chickadees and I don't know whatall. I was looking at one bird the other day thru the window and thinking that something was wrong. It looked like the winter time version of the AGf but it had a very stripped underside and of all things, a longer, sharp bill. With the help of my Peterson's book I think I finally IDd it as a Pine Siskin. So another mystery bird IDd. It's a lot of fun trying to ID them. When we lived on the Gulf there were so many birds that we never did ID all of them.

I'll never get tired of seeing the beautiful Cardinals. Beautiful photo Pelle, evenif it was through a window. Hope that snow slows down for you.
What a great picture of the Creeper F.Chisolm. It looks so chubby!! How'd you get it to sit still for you?
Thank you Pelle and Duc. Creepers are winter visitors here. This one was in a partially flooded thicket beside the river. I had to follow it from tree to tree until I finally got the one shot. Boots were a neccessity. There seemed to be a lot of woodpeckers, sapsuckers and ruby-crowned kinglets in the same thicket. I did get a glimse of a pilleated woodpecker but still no pic. The creepers seem to move about as fast as the kinglets. I did get a few shots of empty trees and branches. The winter goldfinches have finally been pushed south by the cold. I am spending more for bird feed than for my own food. I get home from work and find empty feeders that I know I filled that morning. The Purple finches are not here in the numbers they were last year. I have only seen one male so far.
Nanny, I was going to say it looked like a Golden-crowned, but after checking my Sibley, I'm going to say it may be a younger White-throated. I'm sure someone will know for sure, I'm still learning. Cute photo.
FChisolm, that's a good looking Goldfinch. I'm assuming it's an American Goldfinch.
Agree with White-throated. The black crown stripes are too strong for Golden-crowned.

Hi GG, Good to see you! Lovely shot!
LOL... you nailed his expression alright!.... and it might be a "if you don't watch it, your next"
Welcome back Granny. Love your little expressive birds.
I love that best of pal pic nanny. They get along so well.
Thanks Rose, for starting this thread, Almost missed it. I was wondering why it wasn't showing up on my home page. I thought it was strange people were not posting some bird pics. But it was me, who didn't keep up.
This is my contribution for today. A female Pine Grosbeak.
No, not a confirmation on the id.....
It looks like that's what he's saying..."waddya say?"
Sorry I didn't catch on. ;)
My reply: "Oh I just said, you were a handsome fellaw". lol
Love the pics! The Brown Creeper is cool!
Thanks for starting the new thread Rose!
Great and clear pics everyone!
Wonderful pictures everyone. Granny, I love that attitude shot of the Cardinal. Funny!
Love the Redpol and cute Starling in the wind too Burn.
This isn't very clear, but this is the first House Finch I've seen here with the yellow-variant patch on it's chest. I'll have to watch for a better photo op. Unfortunately, at the time I was practicing with a new teleconverter.
