No salmon here. I like other fish, but not thick ones like salmon, and mahi mahi. My Dad fished for a long time, and we just got so tired of salmon. Now if you give me pan fried fish.... Mmmm
All the dinners sound pretty good. Chicken fried steak, with home made rolls! What time is dinner?
Guess I need to get ready and fix something here too.

Hi all !!!
Went missing cause I had some running around to do.
I have some information on the motel that's close to my house... so, any of you are planning to come to my house for Memorial Day Weekend, please dmail me for the info...
I'm not going to have the bed space I thought I'd have in the beginning. We are not going to be able to air condition the sun porch before May, and it's just too hot to sleep out there that time of year. Also, there are no beds to rent anywhere... I'd have to buy cots or air mattresses.
HOWEVER, I will have 1 king size bed that 2 ladies can share, and there is room in that room for a few air mattresses if you have one to bring with you. I also have 2 comfortable recliners, and comfortable sofa for sleeping. It's going to be first come first serve on the sleeping arrangements here at my house.
Debra, I'm dmailing the motel info to you now.
I just ordered 18 Dahlias from the co-op. These co-ops are the best way to go the prices are so reasonable.
BJ, I would say "Dibs" on the King bed, lol JK. Not for sure if I'm going to be able to make it that weekend. My family has frowned at the mention of it. They don't understand the "bond" we have. If I weren't living with Rick, I for sure would be there. I was thinking though it would be really neat if we did thie every year but each year at a different house. I would like to host it after we get our property and get all settled.
marion, my biopsy is still tomorrow
hurricane pam tried to drown us in the hot tub
Hey BJ ya got a porch there?...am thinking maybe a sleeping bag on the porch would work for stay in LOL
HI girls!!!!!!
someone on the last thread said they were trying to figure out how warm it would be here since it is so cold up north.....I say warm enough to camp out and maybe at night a sweatshirt IF even that come May.
Everyone up north in the cold stay warm and safe I've been listening to the weather on the news and such and they have been talking bout up there ....I feel for ya as I remember it all to well ...but I don't miss the cold just the snow.
(((Jaye))) glad it wasn't serious and so glad you are back!!
Linda Lovely gifts!!!!!!!!
Hello everyone,it's cold outside bundle up and stay warmmmmmmmmmmm.Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I LOVE my gifts from Cathy!
Good night everyone.
LK
Just got back! Kel treated me to a favorite meal.. his of course!! So salmon's for lunch tomorrow.. if it make it to the grill!! Lol!!
Maid M., I hope you like grilled shrimp salad and a small flan for dessert.. real teeny weeny.. no carrot cake :(
Yes Phyllis.. you had a close call too.. guess He's making sure us sistahs are okay... and so will you be Sis Kathy.
Cindy, I am trying my very best NOT to join any co-ops this year. Only purchases made will be for brugs... They already cost me a fortune!!
It's a little late but we met my DIL at Golden Corral. Not sure what all they had after I found the veggie selection and hot yeast rolls. Only 1 roll Jaye, I was good. I do know they had fish but it was fried. Covet your salmon!!!
Kathy, I will be traveling tomorrow but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Drown in the bathtub. Boy. she must be some sort of hurricane for sure!!! Enjoy her--silly statement as I know both you and Mike are. Had a blast with my 2 at dinner. No mac and cheese left on the buffet after the youngest went through. Where do these kids put all this food?
BJ, dmail me the information please. I will be back Friday evening so you have time. I am trying to talk Deborah into riding out with me. Help me on that one please. All I want her to do is ride and keep me company!! That is a big job within it's self.
Debra, if some of the vendors were so serious about their questions it would be hysterical but don't dare laugh. I guess the one that gets to me the most is "but I want to bring my little doggie with me. It can stay locked in the car all day". What part of it could be 80 degrees outside so imagine what it would be in a car with the windows up. Nope no dogs inside festival grounds. Not being mean just for their safety and the people attending the festival. I have already scheduled our ice cream cone on the 21st. Chocolate!! Will get a picture so you will know--and share.
Susan, sorry to hear you have been so sick. This has been a hard year to shake all the bugs. There was an article in our paper today that a whiskey toddy was the best thing to do for the "bug" going around down here. Good common sense finally prevails.
Stay warm Cody. Tina from MB--have you froze? Worried haven't heard from you lately.
Heather, how about you?
Trisha, keep us updated on the house Laura found. Prayers also for her FIL.

Wise decision there Maid M. My furry babies thank you. I don't understand the thoughtlessness of some humans, leaving their pets in unventilated cars.
Judy, I just noticed your number :(. Let me call you tomorrow evening!!
I'm off to bed.. good night sistahs.. Cody.. don't stay up too late..
Thanks Marion i will stay warm, you do the same.
Good night
I want Jaye i'm going to bed myself.Good night sweetie
Morning Girls
Hot Coffee, Hot Cocoa, Hot Tea, Juices, nice fresh hot Oatmeal with fresh fruits to put in it along with sugars and cinnamon and there is maple syrup also ....hoping to cover all the bases in tastes and warm u up from the inside out LOL
Stay warm and toasty and anyone traveling out in the cold be careful out there
I called the couch MONTHS ago-remember Auntie Biggles and Jiggles?? And I have an air bed I can bring if needed....
LK-that was special for the weekend, I can't do that Mon-Fri, but I wish I could-it would be nice to have the option...drove about 50MPH to work today-it is too cold so salt isn't working so they are brining the roads which with the temps, they are still a bit slick:(
Good morning! Off to work this morning. Hope everyone has a splendid day.
Good morning..
Phyllis Thanks for the hot cocoa so cold here I didnt wanna go start the truck.. BUrrrrrr
Sorry I missed all the chat yesterday>> Was busy outside moving all my potted plants and re-attatching the tarp to the shade house, along with adding one for ach side to create a total enclosure to say my tender babies... Spent all day out there..
My poor angels look horrible this morning.. And the grasss is white! No snow but a hard freeze for sure and tonight is supposed to be worse yet..
Good morning!
Waving Hello Marion.
So to dissapear. I was Sanitising my kitchen. That being done, Steve asked me to Clean the
unit he was working on, and arrange the furniture...So went to work with him.
Yesterday was kind of a laze day, I needed it...lol.
So organized my list...woohooo, pay day is coming!!
Planning on shopping today, hopefully before it storms again.
Deborah...took some photo's for you.
This is looking North of the City.
I stopped walking for a few days because of the snow, lol I don't own a pair of boots.
well, I do, but they aren't meant for hiking in snow.LOL
So does running up and down the stairs count? for excercise I mean.
OK, my only real stress anymore is shagging these kids up for school...
Another try and I am about to blow! Then they will get up!!
See you in a bit!
Good morning...
Ok, Ok... between Phyllis and Don, I've changed my mind... it seems they agree that the nights will be cool enough at night to sleep on the sun porch... so, if you have a sleeping bag, or air mattress that you want to bring with you... there will be plenty room to sleep everyone who wants to come.
Got to go pack Don's lunch for work now... will be back in a bit.
Good morning!!
Perfect breakfast spread when you got hot oatmeal on this blistery cold morning. Thanks Phyllis!
Awww... niece, it must be torture going through such an adverse weather for too long now. "Brining" the road is an unheard term here.. but we're supposed to see some snow too.. I'm sure just flurries, not as bad as you. Rather you arrived at work late so, be safe.
Donna, I have 2 heaters going on in the gh/nursery. Haven't checked the babies out yet, but at least they'll be in the 60's.
Have fun at work Debra! If you could.. teach them a song and dance routine to entertain their patients!!!!
Lovely view there Judy. And yes, climbing the stairs do count as exercise. I rather a stair climber than the treadmill... burnt faster the calories, but my knees can't take it.
I'm off.. you all stay warm please.. toasty warm.. and say a prayer for Sis Kathy.
BJ, when you return, dmail me the hotel info.
OK-so you know when you Brine a turkey?? Same thing-a salt water mix-helps to melt the snow-when it is this cold salt doesn't really work and if it does takes to long to warm up.....
I also have one of the little compressors for the air mattresses I can bring with me to fill any beds....
Stacey, you might want to check on luggage policies. When my mom flew from Oregon to Calif they told her anything over 45 lbs was an extra $25. So she mailed part of her stuff as she had done some shopping. If you are planning on taking the air mattress and pump. I could be wrong, but it is somthing to check out.
Stacey... we have one of those little compressors... so, pack extra undies instead.
Jaye... I'll do that now.
What is that picture of? It sure is neat.
Kathy... are you still coming in your camper? I do have the camp site reserved for you... and bring the hurricane with you... all us grandmas want to spoil her some more.
I did not have to go to work today... Thank God...LOL I have not had broncotis like this in years.... Our problems here is that one day we are in the low 30's then we are in the mid 60's... It never gets cold enough to kill the stupid germs. Plus with all the holidays my family has just passed it back and forth.... I am not a drinker per say but when I am like this a nice toddy of whisky and sugar over ice is good for the cough... of course it has to be my Makers Mark whisky...LOL
I came home from work yesterday and my new plant stand came and my hubby put it together for me and I am so excited... Have to be excited because thats all the pep I can muster up as I am just soooo tired....
Today is a new day and I am determined to stop smoking... I stopped for 3 days then yesterday had a few but today I start with no smoking .... I stopped for 17 years then for the past year I have started again and this habit has to GO. So I am putting it to the curb if not today then tomorrow as I am going to do this ....
Ok off to rest again.....
Hugs,
Susan
Hey Susan, Nothing like the present, to stop that Nasty habit. I know it is tough, but just thow them all away, and don't go out to buy anymore. Buy some suckers or hard candy to use instead.
Please post here, when your having a hard time, we can help you out. Go buy some fabric, and do some sewing to keep you busy.
Plus the no smoking will help you get well sooner.
LK
LK, I know I have to stop.... Playing with my plants will also help me... I just need to feel better to play.... I am getting better but it tires me out so much... Even people who don't even smoke are sick in Danville, It is just going around... I am going to do this... My son gave me some patches to use but I am a little leary to use them... I will see...
Debra, called me last week to see where I was and my ringer is off on my phones but I wanted to tell her how much that meant to me.... -^- My ringers are still off as I hate noise ... It goes right to my head
Ok going to look at my flowers and will be back soon...
Thank you all for caring....
Hugs and Love,
Sue
Oh I got a new turtle in the mail and will take a picture of her later.... She is so cute....
Cindy, Thanks.
The picture is Chicago Illinois' Sky Line in the winter!
I took it in the early afternoon. One of my new favorites because of the shadows on Lake Michigan.
Is'n't that a cool road? I just love it, lol to look at anyway.
On a motorcycle with no traffic is pretty neat to to drive on.
I was on the 60th floor of the John Hancock building. 2nd highest Building in the City.
Sears Tower is the Highest.
Susan, Once you feel better and make up your mind you should do well. Good luck to you.
Yep come on in we will give you a hand.
Puzzels are good too. I am talking the 1500 pieces.
Cindy-the bed weighs like 10lbs and the compressor thing (which BJ has one of) is only a couple lbs...which aitline did she fly-it depends on the airline-just like some charge a sur charge depending on seats, you get charged for each peice of luggage and so on-a lot of them are trying to tack on fees for everything-I bet they even charge for a fart or burp!!
Morning all. Judy how are you doing with your smoking campaign? We are here for you. BTW, will we see you in May at BJ's--sure hope so as I was really upset I missed you at Deborah's. I finally am on track to get something done about my knee--won't miss something like that again if I can help it!!!!!
Hi Susan, don't disappear on us again, please. Get right of that shell so you can't hide from the group.
Waving to all as this must be short--need to pack for my overnight adventure. Oh please, keep me in your thoughts while I travel and conduct this meeting tonight. I just am not in the mood to "reinvent the wheel" as we have one member who thinks we should every meeting. The wheel is round, it works--end of it.
Kathy, prayers being said for you.
They charge $6.00 for snacks, they don't serve meals anymore, except if your paying for first class! Last time I flew with my Dad, we were sitting right behind the first class section. They had the curtains pulled closed, but you could still smell the food coming through. and it was real hard to try to explain to my Dad, why he was not getting any of it! I told him, I was not paying the extra $1000.00 it took to get one of those seats. So when we landed, we went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner.
LK
LK-next time, eat Taco Bell about an hour B4 you board and you will create your own aroma that will serve the 1st class people right;)
ROFLOL, Tink only you would think of that!!!!
No. I can't eat before a flight. I always have to take dramamine too! My tummy does not like flying at all. I know that would serve them right, but I don't like to tast my food twice! YUCK!
Makers Mark is the best, we always keep some in the house during winter. Everyone is sick this year, I'm guessing from the hot/cold/hot/cold weather changes we've been experiencing. I'm having to hit my Advair like crazy this year, usually I take 2 puffs a day for 3 or 4 days and my bronchitis is gone, this time it's hanging on.
Look at what happened at my house this morning. Dave came in and said I should request a snow day LOL for an inch! I told him he's off his rocker and it didn't even snow up here in Little Rock, so Yea Right!
The airlines have skimped back big time, and they up the price a lot for first class now. They charge you for alcohol, meals, sometimes snacks depending upon the airline, extra or "over weight" luggage, it's rediculous. You really have to do your research to find an airline that meets your needs and price nowadays. It's crazy.
Waving at Everyone this cold morning!!
Hi Marion,
Well, as of last night, exactly 2 weeks!!
I am still doing all right! Although I am now out of tootsies pops. LOL, so off to store to get more of those.
I have just been keeping busy...still nothing coming out, not so sure if thats good or not.
And it's funny because I really am not thinking about cigs...But I do notice I am hungry all the time now!!
Thats just not too cool.
Thanks for asking. Well, I do have BJ's on the calander!! I would love to make the trip, but it will depend greatly on upcoming projects.
Steves work...So as long as it's on the calander he can try and work around it. So keeping fingers crossed.
Oh I am so glad you are having your knee looked after and hopefully fixed. Yes was quite the bummer we didn't get to meet at Deborahs.
Deborah, Hows cutting back going for you?
Going to warm up the van, woohoo, got some cash so going to Check out Joannes and get more bird food...Poor feathered friends.
They are hungry!
Oh I am so excited, I have Cardinals, some blue birds, the Woodpeckers...local Sparrows...and squirrels lurking about the bottom!
As soon as I get a new finch bag...the Finches will come too!!
BBL...
Hey, Seedtosser, have you every gone to the Spring Flower Show in Chicago, since you live close to there? A friend and I went a few years ago and it was wonderful! I have never seen so many vendors of all kinds of garden stuff. the whole Navy Pier was packed with anything you could think of + display gardens. We had a great weekend; stayed at a nice hotel and took the shuttle to the Pier.
I love my shell and really need it to protect me...LOLOLOL I just have not been on the puter at all... To much work for me... I am thrilled to say hubby is going to work tomorrow and it can't come soon enough.... Me sick is one thing, him sick is another.... LOLOL Told my boss yesterday if she was not a good boss I would not be there... I told her I was tired of following her around to hear what she said to me and my head hurt and I was in a mood ... My mood could either make me say something not very nice or I could just cry..... So today I am home...LOLOLOL
Ok going to find something to eat than maybe take a nap . No smokes so far today... yeah....Be back in a few...
Love ya all,
Susan
