I searched the Dave's Garden site but did not find Arneson Azalea, "Golden Solitaire". I live in NC and planted 6 of them last spring. The are scraggly looking now (January) but are definitely living. Has anyone grown this azalea for more than one season? If so, would you share your experience with it's behaviour/appearance/reliability, etc.? Thanks.
Experience with Arneson Azalea "Golden Solitaire"
I have never seen this plant myself, but I've created a page for it in the Plant Guide, here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/180668/ You might want to add a note about your experience with it. Once a page is started, hopefully other gardeners who've grown this plant will find it and post their own experiences.
Thanks, Rosemary A. for posting this azelea to the Plant Guide. Personally, I won't have any "experience" with it until after the coming spring season. This plant is compact with nice dark green color to the leaves and has lovely yellow blossoms ( a couple of mine did bloom soon after I planted them last spring) and so far they appear to be hardy.
