melons, cukes, and squash

Dalton, GA(Zone 7b)

I have a 50x50 foot area where I have put in raised beds. I am planning on growing melons, cucumbers and squash--how far do I need to plant each away from each other to avoid cross pollination, or is this even a problem? if I am growing different varieties of each is there a problem if they cross pollinate? (i.e. watermelons and cantalopes) thank you!

As as you are not growing several cultivars of the same species, no cross pollination problems. Even if you do grow several cultivars of say summer squash, cross pollination only becomes a problem when you save seeds. cukes only cross with cukes, (Cucumis. sativus) cantaloupes with cantaloupes, honeydews etc ( Cucumis. melo), summer squash only with other Cucurbita pepo. Watermelons only with watermelons (Citrullus lanatus)

okay--great--I was thinking they were related
