Hello! I have noticed my plant starting to wilt. I gave it a good water. It is quite dark (even though on the window). Would moving it to as brighter place help? I haven't been giving it any fertilizer. What kind of fertilizer should I give it to help it? It was above the radiator.
African Violet wilting
Wilting can be from too much water as well as too little, so I'd check by sticking your finger down into the soil a couple inches to check if it needs water before you give it any more. Does your container have drainage holes? If not then I'd repot it right away into something that does, it's way too easy to overwater with containers that don't have drainage.
I don't think they'll bloom in a dark location so moving it to a brighter area will be better in the long run, but that's probably not why it's wilting and unless there's something in its current conditions that is bad for it (like if it's getting a lot of heat from the radiator) then I'd leave it where it is until it perks up a bit, then try moving it somewhere brighter. Anytime you change a plant's conditions that can cause a little stress for it, and since it's already stressed you don't want to add in any more stress if you can help it. I also wouldn't fertilize it while it's stressed, wait until it's perked up again.
Too cold, too hot, too much water, or recently moved to a new location or a combination of any of the above.
If wilted from being dry, water sparingly until it perks up. More AV die from too much water than not enough.
Good luck.
I would guess because it was above the radiator. It had not been watered for a while aswell. Thank you for the help.
