I have to tell ya [if chatter in here is okay] I have been teasing my mom about bird watching for some time now. At Christmas we played dirty santa and I won the feeder. I was so excited put it up and then waited and waited and waited........was getting upset ..no birds.

Mom was sortof teasing me back cuz I felt I wasnt gonna get any birds.

THEN today was like 'hey yall she has good stuff down here' I was so excited I called my mom, grabbed the camera! :)

The White-breasted Nuthatch was skittish everytime I got the camera ready he would fly away to the tree. So I am hoping to get a closer one tomorrow while drinking my coffee. There was also a red headed woodpecker but those other birds wouldnt let him land.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

My WB Nuthatchs just land long enough to grab a bite and then zip back up in the tree to eat it.

South Hamilton, MA

That is their operating mode. Chickadees do the same thing.

Melbourne, FL

Going into forties tonight, thirties the next two nights. Should not reach freezing in our area.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

I sure hope not, GP. But the weatherman just said that this blast of cold was going all the way past Cuba. Yikes! It is bad enough up north where we expect it in winter, I hope you guys don't lose your landscaping (and all of our fruit and vegetable crops)

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)
