Elphaba, yes, our Lesser Goldfinche males get their dark colors this time of year in our area anyway.
Great pics onewish and nanny!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090109/ap_on_re_us/rare_bird interesting article
That's very neat! Thanks adel.
VERY nice pics everyone. I especially like the Blue Jay/snow pics!
Wow onewish, your blue jays look so much fluffier than ours!! It's like they grow a special winter coat up there or something. Cute!
Nice start for the new thread GP...alway nice to see your birds in blue skies and sunshine!
Lovely pics everyone...we sure have a nice variety!
Adel...that is an interesting link, I think some birdwatchers from our area went to Texas to try and see that little bird!
Today is nice and sunny so hope to get out and see what is going on!
Hi countrymouse and welcome!
Most of mine right now if the show birds on my feeders or trees are thu the window. But I do walk and look for birds out too, but will usually mention it was taken on my walk.
Looks like you have an American Tree Sparrow there. Very cute little birds that somewhat resemble Chipping Sparrows, which have gone south for the winter.
Watched this American Crow try to sneak in and get some suet I had broken up and put on the ground...
Sneaky Crow Nanny, LOL I like them too, they can be very amusing sometimes.
Countrymouse, welcome to the bird thread, I take most of my picture through the window too. Nice pictures of the Cardinals. I don't see any here.
This was, while I was out riding in the country. I looked out my rear view mirror and these Snow Bunting had just landed, in the road. I stop and got out and walk slowly toward them taking pictures, so as not to miss anything. Couldn't get as close as I wished. But got these and cropped them.
I want some of the Snow Buntings and Pine Grosbeaks too, they are purdy!!
Welcome to the forum countrymouse! Nice pics!
Great pics everyone! Burn I love the Snow Buntings!
This one, also taken yesterday, of American Goldfinches.
