Nice pic! thanks for starting the new thread!

Quite Welcome. I could use a few more of these guys. And some redpolls, titmice, any sparrows besides house… etc. ;)

You've captured the inquisitiveness (is that a word?) of the titmouse Meth! Adorable. Love the way the cardinal's background fades away. Neat.

Do you get many purple finches mrs. ed? He sure is pretty.

Orchard Park, NY

Awww to the chickadee! Just love that background Meth - especially the chickadee in the spruce. Adds a lot of interest to the photo. Thanks.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

No Nancy, not too many. I didn't see any last year until the spring and that was a female. Then this fall I had half a dozen or so.

Orchard Park, NY

I really like that "squirrel block" Meth. Did you make it? I'll bet the song birds at my house would enjoy it.

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks all.

No I did not make it but you can buy them at Lowes. Those shots were taken at one of the local nature centers.

Here's the 3rd shot of the Chicadee that did not post for some reason.

This Fox Sparrow shows up almost everyday now...wish the sun would be out when it comes. Very hard to photograph when it is so dark!

Thanks for starting the new thread Mrs Ed!

Nice pics everyone!

Wonderful pics everyone!

Please be sure to check out the Hummingbird thread from National Geographic on this forum. It's outstanding!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Thanks Pelletory, I'll be sure to check the hummingbird thread!

Love that handsome Cardinal. They're so beautiful.

That Purple Finch is pretty too. I have both the Purple and the House Finches here, but am having trouble trying to figure out who's what with my young ones.

Send some of those Chickadees west please Meth. I'd love to see them.

Wonderful photos, all of them.

This California Thrasher has the prettiest song in the warmer weather.

One of our younger Bald Eagles was being chased by a Peregrine Falcon past our house yesterday. By the time I got the camera, the eagle was way ahead, but the falcon seemed to have won because he came back my way without the eagle.

Sorry these photos are blurred, they were a good distance from me.

One last one of the Peregrine Falcon. It sure made loud screaming noises at the eagle as it went after the eagle.

If anyone can tell me if my first photo is actually a Bald Eagle or a Golden, I'd sure appreciate it. (we have both here) I'm assuming it's a Bald because one has been seen with an adult Bald-if that makes sense.

That Peregrine looks like it had a bit much over Christmas! Absolutely stuffed! Definitely needs to visit the obesity clinic ;-)

I'm no expert, but the bill and wing shape makes me think it's an immature Bald Eagle. What say you Resin?

Wow...new thread already...thanks for starting it Mrs. Ed, it's always nice to see those Purple Finches!

Great shots everyone, keep them coming!

Got a few in no light but thought I'd share anyway. This is a bad pic of a Hairy Woodpecker... bird # 38 for this year on our farm. You can see the solid white outer tail feathers and also the longer beak than differentiates this from the Downy Woodpecker.

Yep! Big beak, long neck and tail, rectangular wings (slightly S-shaped rear edge on Golden, with bulging secondaries and slightly curved-back primaries)

Thanks Adel and Resin. I was just hoping it possibly could be a Bald Eagle. I haven't caught a photo of one yet and everyone else is seeing them here.

Great pics everyone! Love the Peregrine!

Gorgeous shot of your White-throated Sparrow Rose!

This Blue Jay was all over the yard yesterday at all the feeders!

The nasty weather this morning brought in lots of visitors.

Such as this Carolina Wren that I just barely got a pic of before it flew off.

Of course lots of Northern Cardinals...

LOTS of Dark-eyed Junco's ...this one was getting a drink from the heated bowl.
