This robin closes January 11th. This robin is open to participants of the NE Forum and all of the lurkers and wannabe gardeners that post here!!!
You may keep the box 3 days and then send it on to the next person.
The box will be filled and is sent from person to person on the list. Each person adds their packets and takes the ones they want to try.
This is a Small Seed Thread so that more people can participate. The idea is to spread the wealth and have fun..
You can participate with only one or two of packets, or as many as you want.
Seeds per packet should range from 10-20 seeds. But, if you have a great plant and only 3 seeds, just mark it that way.
Guidelines: Golden Rule applies. Take what you would like to plant and leave the rest for those next on the list.
You must put your name on the packets you place in the robin. This is so people with questions can ask you.
Please limit packets to seeds that are only 1-2 years old. my exception is tomato. They can be up to 4 years. If anyone has anything to contribute, let me know.
Since there are different plants in the robin, I will separate them by saying:
Flowers and herbs:
*Your DG name
*number of seeds if not 10- 20 seeds
*type of seed- this is important to many DGers: please include Latin name. If you don't know, then okay. It will be up to person to decide if they want the seed.
*(Please indicate annual or perennial and zone.
Vegetables:
*Basically we need the name, such as bush beans and the variety name.
*Days to maturity. If not known, list that
*Variety name is essential. If you have a cucumber, but don't know the name, it's not a good addition.
You could add it as an unknown veggie.
*Number of seeds again, if not 10-20 seeds
Willie has generously offered help with packets. Here is the link to his post.

Count me in - I have lots to share.
Thanks for organizing this, Cyndie!
Please, count me in!
I also (or in the vernacular) Me too!
I'm in! :-)
When this gets going, full swing, if anyone would like to print out their own seed envelopes for this, I can edit the Dave's Garden template shown here for you.
4 of these fit on 1 standard page.
Simply dmail me the following info about the seeds, a photo, AND a link to the plant in Dave's Garden.
Here is the info on the Foxglove example shown. Please, edit the info carefully as it pertains to your specific seed choice.

INFO NEEDED:
Dramatic minarets appear suddenly in the spring garden. No garden should be without them. A sunny spot is fine, but they are unbeatable in half shade.
Flowers are White, Pink, Lavender, Purple and Red.
Biennial. Zone 4 - 9.
Height 24 - 48”
BLOOMS in Late Spring to Early Summer.
SOW directly in garden in sandy soil in full sun, from fall to early spring. Sow seeds thinly and cover with 1/8” of fine soil. Firm lightly and keep evenly moist. Seedlings emerge in 14 - 21 days depending on soil and weather conditions. Plant 18 - 24 inches apart.
GARDEN HINTS:
To get a head start, sow seeds indoors about 6 weeks before outdoor planting time. Transplant after danger of frost has passed.

Wow ,
Willie that is incredibly generous and offer for you to make. It takes time and patience and time to do that kind of work.
Thank You for that offer. Its the hardest part of setting up.
Robin
guess I can't play
:(
Onewish why not???
I wasn't added to the list
oh, I bet that, for sure, that was a very temporary oversight, Allison.
^_^
I am sure you are right Willie
It is kind of a fun way to boost post numbers, however!
:-)
sure it is!
Do people try to boost post numbers?
Nother question. Why do people try to boost post numbers?
hmm and last question if you don't mind too much, then I will get back on topic......remember I am new to this. Why do they want to be first on the forums?
We don't have to be first .... just beat the poultry forum!!
^_^

Newsletter link to statistics .....
I had no idea.
It's just for fun ..... well, for me, it's just for fun .....
;-)
Sorry Onewish! Got distracted editing my list.
I kind of figured that .... thanks for adding me
I see DonShirer and saanansandy are wanting to be added, as well.
That will bring us up to seven participants, so far!!
I have been looking for a good source for bulk Basil seed, and think I might be able to find them locally, even. Can't have too much Pesto in the freezer.
Anyone interested in Basil?
willie - territorial seed is usually pretty good for bulk seeds.
i just posted this on spring 2009 orders. i am interested in rudbeckia prarie glow and could swap some rudbeckia gloriosa and/or doublegold (pages 34 & 36 seeds of change)
I have Basil seed from '08. 2 or 3 different types...
Better late than never, but throw me on the list, too (gently, please!).
Willie... I have to tell you I planted at least what a dozen basil plants. I am out , out all the way out:( I have seeds different kinds and new ones starting in the house but you know how that goes in the house blah and I even rooted cuttings grew it in water . Never never enough basil.Ok I'm done rambling. Thank You for the podium for a minute.
Robin
