A new thread for a New year. Pelle asked me to start this thread so I went out this afternoon looking for a pic with which to start it with. The only thing I found was this Great Blue Heron............I saw it and it saw me and got nervous...........

The brush piles and I have become the closest of friends and that is where I can be found in good light! Here is a Dark-eyed Junco taken at one of them.

Great start adelbert, at least you got the Heron!
So lucky to see an Owl in the day crazybird!
Love the first shot of the White-Breasted Nuthatch methodical, and the rest!
rose, very nice shot of the Dark-eyed Junco, others great too, I need a brush pile but also need to put some sun on order. :)
bsharf, all I can say is, lucky you!
Wow ducbuc, fantasitc GB Heron shots!
OK, so I told a little fib yesterday, I did have some pics I got of a Pied Wagtail which was on my 'lawn' picking up bread crumbs I guess as I put some out. Oh well, when it's as grey as you can get one just has to post what one has. I saw a Magpie wing too flying from some oat mix I had put out, lol!
Wow pelle, great shot! I do feel sorry for the Starling though, but that is nature!
This was the first time I've seen a Starling taken. Seeing that their numbers are so much higher than other birds I'd prefer to see them taken but it's never pleasant.
I tried to go outside to take a pic but he took his catch behind the shed. :-)
