Hi DebinSC, We have that already in the Bird Watching forum.

I think it's just N. America, Europe and Australia that we have right now. If anyone can find sites for other continent's I'd be glad to add them.

If we do it that way it would be good to have a link to the Bird Watching forum from the top of the Bird Files page.

I wish it could have been done on each birds page. Oh well. :-)

I just checked and we don't have a website for Australia. I think I asked one of our friends for that but I never heard back so I'll do some more asking around. :-)

All fixed now.

Got it! Thanks Debin! :-)

Just another thought if it hasn't been mentioned already. How about taking away the zip code reports and putting in writing approximately where the winter/summer ranges are for each particular bird is and still have a link at the top of the page for the range maps in the BW forum. I think that would be less confusing.

Calif_Sue, I have created entries for all your Ecuador Hummingbirds and greatly look forward to seeing their pictures.
If you are searching for the entries using the common names, all the above are correct except one. You missed a 'u' out of tourmaline in the Tourmaline Sunangel.

Thank you so much Ken!

Question: Why don't the comments I write when I initially enter my image NOT get included when someone makes a comment and starts a thread like PF does?

The comments at the top of the enlarged picture were entered by you...are those the ones you are looking for?
Additional comments can be added at the bottom of the main page.
If I am off base on your question, maybe others can help.

Sorry Sheila, I fixed my post above, it was missing a crucial word: NOT
When I do a PlantFile image entry with comments, those comments always show if someone else starts a thread on that image. Doesn't seem to be the same way with these BirdFiles.
For instance with the one I linked to, I wrote that the image is courtesy of my brother. Now, if someone else comes along into the thread already started, they don't see that comments and may assume it's my image.
Here is a PF example where I credited the image to another and it was included when Badseed started a thread on that image.

Gosh, I would love it if I could add species to my journal from BirdFiles and BugFiles too for that matter. I'd create a new Journal just for that "Birds & other Critters in my Garden". If it wouldn't cause any trouble could we please have that feature? Forgive me if this has already been asked for.

I just found Birdfiles (duh) and it's fabulous. Thanks Dave. You're the man (and thanks to all the entry-makers and admin helpers). Another great feature.
