I bought my first houseplant...........
A Christmas Cactus(zygo cactus)
Now how do I care for it??
I also have a pointsetta..

You picked a great starter plant. I have 2 Christmas cactus my self.
I put mine out on my shaded front porch all summmer,water once a month then when the night start to cool down in the fall you
see buds start to appear. Bring in from out door but keep some place cool. Then 3 weeks before Christmas place on table in house,start watering weekly

We have a Christmas cactus, and always have. Ours stays inside all year around in the same place. It gets watered when dry and thats it (oh and fed when remembered). The main thing is to just water it when dry, it'll do the rest on its own.

Mine live on a table by an east facing window. I feed them in spring and summer, and sometimes in winter they get a 1/4 strength fertilizer just because I have leftover water... If you feed them enough in the summer to keep the leaves a good looking green, they should bloom for you in winter (and maybe sporadically thru the year)

also, remember to pinch off the tips (I do this every spring) so it will branch out...
