Another Gold finch picture. They are here to stay for a while I guess
DAILY PICS VOL. 165
Gosh seems like you all ahd a nice Christmas!!
I agree that ALL the pics are spectacular!
Rose glad your Shrike is still hanging so you could get some very nice pics. Our sapsucker seem to be one a every other day schedule here. It should bit just a bit more south for winter according to the books. But I am hoping it will just settle in and live here permanently! Maybe have some little sapsuckers next year...
I was sooo surpirsed (but HAPPY) yesterday morning when I saw this Northern Flicker out in the platform. He came back later too and brought another male with him!
Wow that's great nanny! I would be so excited to see that.
Wow Nanny...I would love the Flickers to eat at our feeders!
Yesterday was the first itme I have ever seen them do that. I have always hoped the they and the Pileated would use the platform. Usually one the at the base of the tree searching for bugs and maybe bits of suet on the ground. I hope they decide to visit regularly! lol
I wish I could have gotten a good pic of the second male. He stayed in the shadows or other side of the tree.
OK Nanny...I am jealous...again!!
Not many birds today. I caught a glimpse of a large bird a distance away that looked totally different than anything I have seen before.....may have been a Hawk, but if it was it was the largest Hawk I have ever seen. That could explain the lack of birds, though. Here is an immature male Painted Bunting having some salad.
Very nice, this thread is moving fast once again.
neat loggerhead shrike Rose and nice shot of the Sapsucker
Cute goldfinch Meth, I still have then around, and it surprises me to see them here this winter.
Like the white thin stripe above the Willie Wagtail's eye, make him look mean for a small bird.
Nanny glad to see the Northern flicker in your yard. Enjoy it for me.
Love the male bunting GP
Nice to have the sun, made it possible to get more decent shots of the Pine Grosbeak.
The Evening Grosbeak are irregular, they came to check the feeders yesterday but didn't stay. Had Bohemian Waxwings today also, but didn't get a chance to take pictures of them either. I've set out some blueberries to try to attract them. But if they show up tomorrow, the light won't be good.
Female Pine Grosbeak
Great pics guys!!
Prothonotary Warbler. Nice one to get!
Resin
Great job Anita!
Beautiful shots Rose!
oh no, dellrose is "infested" with flying yellow piggies! :)
Thanks Pelle...it was so nice to not shoot through a window!
Evie...LOL! We do have lots of the piggies and they really are everywhere!! I love to watch them though but they are eating me out of house and home!
This is a window shot from the other day. These Carolina Wrens are just the most entertaining birds the way they constantly seem to be exploring! They have been roosting in the garage at night (in a Christmas wreath) and I hear them before sun up singing to the dogs!! One of them also got into the house recently as I have been finding "calling cards"!!
Good gracious, such lovely pix today. not here. rain and fog!
Nanny, I saw a Robin Christmas day in my Mom's crab apple tree!
Nice Blue Birds. Sure wish they'd visit me some time.
Nanny I have been seeing several Robins this past week also. I don't remember ever seeing a Robin in the winter. Today they were on the ground in the backyard in the rain...I guess looking for worms in our warm weather!
Met...have you put out mealworms? Here is a happy couple eating in the feeding cage in the rain today.
No Dellrose I have not put out any mealworms? Where do you get the meal worms and are they live or dead?
Thanks
