Climbing Vine for White Oak Tree

Palo Alto, CA

I'm needing a flowering climbing vine for the big trunk of my oak tree. it will only get filtered sun through the tree. I don't want anything that would hurt the tree. I've thought about wisteria, bougenvillea, Hoya macgillivrayi, and Clystoma binatum, but I have no idea.

Lace ferns will be planted around the tree so I want something for a nice contrast. Most of my yard is filled with different shades of purple. Any suggestions?

White clematis?

Passiflora or I have Bignona 'Tangerine Beauty' growing up an oak.

Ohhh, That would be lovely! Does it flower all summer long? My clematis only blooms sporadically after the first flush in spring.

Actually the bignona is mostly a late spring to early summer flowering vine for me. I can expect a few later flowers, but I find that it scrambles to the top of the tree, so those flowers aren't readily noticeable. I wonder if I put a passi around the base to flower down there...hummmm. Especially since the bignona is woody at the bottom.
