December Blooms #2

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Sounds like a good party! LOLOL!

South, TX

Canaries are nice. I think the males sing and are so pretty. But if you want to play and snuggle, another bird is better, ha. My parents had a canary for a long time. It was so pretty. Sang when they came home from being out. Just do the research first with any new bird. There are wonderful forums to get great advice. I am on Shih Tzu and Parrot forums.

I like to snuggle and play, read to, sing etc my bird. I read a little book and sing to her before bedtime. They are just like toddlers. VERY smart little pets.

Parrotlets are kind of new, in the U.S. 20 years or so. They are 4 1/2 inches long and quite pretty. LOTS of colors. Blue, white, yellow, etc. Chipper is a Pacific Lucida. You rarely see a Lucida. Colorful on her back.

Chipper is a hilarious little girl. Right now she is napping in her sleep cage. She will call me soon to bring her back in here to the living room where her big cage and playgym is. She is a HOOT!

Really cute--I might hold out for a parrotlet--I like their personalty! I might be interested in the shih tzu forum, even though I am currently sans shih tzu. I will get another at some point...

When I was in high school, we had a shih tzu named Bernie. Since we lived in the high desert in California, my mother kept him shaved like a schnauzer.

How cute, Syrumani, is that! I love both kinds of dogs.

Wow, Gail, they are all beautiful!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I don't think they are either minis .....They just got potted up from being a baby not long ago. That is why I call them babies. These are first blooms. The Cherry Roulette is still in her solo cup for just two weeks. A giant big thanks to Jim, M and Kathy for the leaves still making babies.............and all of these that are just starting to bloom for the first time.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

They are your babies, Gail---you're a very good mom! ^_^

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

All the sinningia speciosa seeds are now plants and are opening into giant blooms. I will wait until I have a whole shelf full of them and take some more pics.

The stems aren't strong enough and they all need to repotted in heavier soil. I don't think I have it in me.

I simply cannot get the camera to show you the total soft lavender edges to this one...........let me check her name. Oh no. ....she is purple peloric like the dark one in the first picture. You just have to grow these from seed.

Awesome pictures Gail. You did a outstanding job growing the sinn.sp from seed. The streps are nice too. ^_^

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Gail...my guess on your red strep might be 'Red Alert' (Thompson). Excellent growing on your sinningias from seed. They are gorgeous and of course as always on your blooming streps from leaf cuttings. Great job!

Seymour, IN(Zone 5b)

Gessie, you don't have repotting all the sinningia speciosa babies in you.LOL You'll just have to sell them on the marketplace. Lou

Beautiful pictures as always....

I finally have my first AV blooms. I couldn't resist trying them again-- so bought 2 off ebay. Lucky Lady Bug is the first to bloom--now I'm smitten (bitten) once again. The flowers are actually a deep burgundy red.

That's a cutie, Hillbilly Gran! My violets are usually mostly all blooming all year. I guess it is because the house temp is usually the same. Same amount of light etc.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Gail, as usual, your blooms are georgeous. I especially like the purple peloric. The flower is so dainty.
Hillbilly Gran, I love your little Lucky Lady Bug, too! She's very pretty.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Imadigger, I owe you something but will have to go to my folders.............we were going to wait until you got back from the wedding......................I will check with you after Christmas.............
