hand pollinating liliums

I want to learn how to hand pollinate liliums for seeds collection, can anyone advice me on the procedure I dont seem to be having much luck at the moment.

Hi Jen, can you let us know what type of Lilly you are trying to get the seeds from, there are several types of lilies and all have different methods of seed production, some have the seeds growing on the stems just at each leaf Axel, others it is just below where the petals formed on the flower and then others grow new bulbs underground these are called bulb-lets, that is just a few ways to find where the seeds are, but there are even more, so a bit more info could let me help you out.
If however you wish to pollinate to try form a cross pollination and a new type of cross breed plant then you need to use a more sophisticated and longer processed method.
Lilies are normally one of the easiest plants to get seeds from as they form plenty from the one plant. Get back to us with more info. Good luck. WeeNel.
