He came home and bragged on how generous you are with the candy canes. Then when I wondered why there's only one Kiss in it.. he said most probably Granny came alive and ate some.. I know better. He's a choco freak!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, you should have your own arts and crafts and candle booth!
Your Granny ain't going nowhere, we love it!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I love the granny too... it's soo cute.

Covering those glass ornaments are a pain... but I'm going to approach it from a different angle today and try again ... if it doesn't work for me this morning, I'm going to move right along to the next project... I got pretty frustrated last night with it...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, can you post the pic of Granny here.
BJ, I can't believe I stole it from Tina-Tia :D !!! How ruthless of me!!

Ok, whatever crafts my sistahs have problems with, I promise not to attempt them!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... it's probably just me, Jaye... was looking for a "quick" method yesterday, instead of doing it just like the instructions say... guess there wasn't a better way to do it... so, I'm going to just do it the way they say today. We'll see if that works better. PLUS... I'm just using some really cheap ornaments... the good ones might not break as easy.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

yeah WallE is cute watched it with daughter when she was here for turkey and they also had Get Smart.... I recommend watching Get Smart too it's funny

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

yea I know Jaye, you stole it from me lol. Glad you got it.

Well hello Phyllis! What's your agenda for today. Was just thinking, if you lived next door to BJ, I bet you both can come up with some breathtaking work together!

And I'm not sorry either Tina-Tia!! I'm ready for 2009 Dirty Santa! Got some experience in sniping now!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

We saw get Smart too, yep it was funny. So what is this WallE movie about?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

WallE takes place after the world is so full of trash and junk that the humans have to leave the planet, until the world is cleaned up by WallE robots, that were left behind.
After 700 years, only one WallE is left, still cleaning. Then the mother ship sends back a female robot looking for plant life.....
RENT IT CINDY!!!!

I went to an ornament party yesterday. I had the prettiest ornamant. It was tear drop frostef glass, shaped and hand painted with grapes and vines. It got STOLEN, I ended up with a Hallmark keepsake of a little mailbox, I like it, it goes with my tree better than the grape one. If I would have ended up with the grape one I was goin to send it to Stacey, it matches her kitchen I think.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Weeeeelllllll, those aren't my type of movies but probably will rent it, kids will watch it Christmas day when they are here...........

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

mm my agenda for the day ...mmm...will work on the quilt and finish getting it together so I can go get the batting and start quilting it on weds.
tree is up and the top of the entertainment center decorated ..DH put the lights up right after turkey day.

I bet BJ and I could come up with some neat stuff if we were neighbors we might run the rest of her neighbors off though with too much noise from laughter LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well... Phyllis... there's this house across the street from me that's for sale... hehehe... still trying to get a sistah to move in to it...
Oh, we'd have soooo much fun.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

yes I know dear and it would be such fun I know and we would have my DH to do our outside work to keep him busy plus he is very handy in side too but not sure I could get him to consider moving again so soon LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

We'll just have to work on him... huh?
He and Don would get along great... Oh, the projects they'd come up with would blow us away... but then, they'd have to stay busy... they'd never see us with all the projects we'd be doing together...
This neighborhood won't know what hit them...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. we got up early to go shopping for tree decorations, and came home empty handed. Our Wal-mart just sucks. We have our tree up, and decorated for the most part, I was just looking for something different. I only have about 8 boxes of ornaments!!! I will go to Michaels, or Hobby Lobby when I go to San Antonio on Friday. I have 2 appotinments, hopefully the first one is to get my stitches out, and the second one is the infamous b**b smasher I get every 6 months!!! YUCK!!!
Cindy, Hurray for the new, and better job. What line of work is it?
Susan, so sorry to hear the bad news.
Bj, how you coming on those ornaments?

I had surgery on both of my feet for plantaar faciitus, and heel spurs. The left foot was done about 10 weeks ago, and the right one was done 2 weeks ago. So I have been jokingly saying I should be able to dance for the new years!!! It is a very slow healing process, and quite painfull! Right now I am still wearing the big black clunky boot, and using crutches to walk with. Poor hubby has been doing most of all cooking, cleaning...

Afternoon everyone
Well its been yet another crazy day around here. Next door neighbors push mower blew up so they came over and borrowed ours ( told him he was more than welcome to do our front yard too)...lol Neighbor 6 doors down rode his daughter down on the 3 wheeler and she wanted a haircut. Cleaned the kitchen, started laundry, Made another fringe blanket... IM TIRED..LOL

I still need to head out front and pull all the dead coleus out of the flower beds and do some weeding since the sun is shining on us today.. Still alittle breezy but the weather is great..

Max had to re-work the entire pc .. It had some sort of major problem last night and just wouldnt do anything at all..

Thinking I may wait until tomorrow and work on my swap buddy project...hmmmm

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

I am so sorry for your pain... Good husband... let him do what ever he can... I have 3 bone spurs on my right knee and one in my right elbow... plus stupid arthritis in most of my joints... Oh well we all go on.... Well phone me if you need to talk ....
Hugs,
Susan

Hi Sistah's all!!

Wow, i have been busy! so you call this remtirement eh??
Yesterday made another apron, this time only a half one. She didn't specify which she wanted so i thought i better havee both covered.LOL...plus, I did make a tiny one to leave on her desk...it's for soap, LOL I used the one you made for me Deborah, as a pattern!! turned out pretty cute. So, then I decided i better work on Santa's but the craft earea was driving me bonkers again...
So here is what I decided. Since everone in this house has there own personal space but me, I am comendeering the craft area as just mine!! Removed everyone stuff from there and putting my personal touch...So have been organising it so i can think half way straight. LOL.
I am just tired of living out of boxes, and bags of which all my stuff is in.
Tues i will be going back to office to get the rest of my stuff, tools some organizing bins and stuff like that...was going to trash them but, Geesh they are mine so going to get them.

In the meantime, doing laundry and getting house ready to decorate for Christmas...
Miss you all and I hope you all enjoying the days that I have missed. Will take a break later so i can catch up on the goings on.

Thanks on compliments of my apron...was lots of fun to sew. LOL with a real pattern. Usually I make my own, but this is so small i couldn't figure it out so bought a pattern! My son, was so cute, he came in when I was pinning it and says, WHAT is That, lolol.

Ok...Well better get back at, got to switch loads and figure out what to do with all the other stuff.
Enjoy the day all.

Rick is an electrician. He was working at a HomeDepot that they are building in Auburn (my hometown), but they are not going to open the store now for at least 6 months or as long as 2 years. A guy that was putting in alarm systems overheard the foreman tell Rick that as of Friday he was laid off. So the guy called his boss and told him about Rick. So he will be working for an alarm company.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Which alarm company, Cindy? My son works for Great Southwest Fire and Alarm in Dallas. Been with them for, gosh... I guess 10 or 12 years now... DIL went to work for them about 3 years ago too... Son is a district manager... DIL does the CAD layouts for the commercial clients.

LK... I've got two ornaments done... they're not baked, but I managed to get all the clay on them without breaking them.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL Rick doesn't know the name of the company. It's a small family business.

So are we going to see the oranments even though they aren't baked yet?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Good Sunday All!!

I know I have such talented sistahs (and nieces) that I wanted to ask for help.

This quilt was a gift from my hubby shortly after my second grandchild was born. They called it my "Nana Quilt"...anyway...Bill's company split in two shortly after she made it, with Electric going to one company and Gas going to the other. She stayed with the Electric side and Bill went to the Gas side. Anyway, to make a long story short, I have 8 grandchildren now with two more coming in January and April. I need help from someone who can add my GKs names and dates. Anyone willing to help? Of course I'll pay!!

Here is the quilt

Joycett, that is a beautiful quilt. Wish I had the machine, and/or talent to do names of any kind. (Hint, if you win the lotto, you can buy me one) Ha Ha Ha!!!
we will all have a great party, if I win the lotto for sure!
What is everyone else up to?
Bj, you got a picture of those ornaments, or is it a secret?

Hello Sistah's,
Glad to hear you had nice weekends... Most of mine was great so I am happy for that... I am heading over to the thread that Kim(Dimmer) started to see what is all about... What I hear is wonderful things... So I may be back in awhile if not see you all tomorrow...
Hugs to my Sistah's

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Hello sistahs,

Today was 'finish the stocking and get it packed to ship' day. Also packed a couple other boxes of goodies and a couple of cards. They are done, in the car, and ready to leave with me early tomorrow am. Must be at the med center at 7:30am.

That's a beautiful quilt, Joyce. Your DH was so thoughtful to have it done for you. Hope you find someone to add the names for you. How were the two names put there before? Is it embroidered?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good evening everyone. Took in Market Days and found some neat things and some not so neat things!! Isn't that usually what happens at a craft show.

Joyce, what does the back of the quilt look like where the names have been added? Take a picture of the back side if you don't mind. Might can help with this project. Just bring it in March when you come South!!!!!!

We had a bright but chilly day here today. Turning ugly again tomorrow or Tuesday according to the paper. Then again, when was the last time the weather reported in the paper was right?

Good for you Debra having everything packed and in the car!! I have to see if the things I got today are going to fit into my stocking now. If not they just go in the box.

BJ, please, update us with a picture of your works. Saw some cute clay things today and then the usual clay things. Boy Christmas ornaments made from light bulbs were big!! I had seen how to do some on several website but I didn't realize they were going to be this big. Some cute-some well----------

Anyone heard from Kathy? Wonder how she is doing?

Tia, Tina, Whatever, ever going okay so far? Thinking about you constantly and wishing there was some way to help!!

Donna in Jax, sounds like you have been really busy. Did you get Tony's room finished?

Linda Kay, our WalMarts are so picked over it is impossible to find anything--even in the grocery section. I don't believe I have ever seen things this picked so early. Take care of that foot and will be thinking of you on Friday. Will be feeling your ouches!!!! LOL

Quilt finished Phyllis? I really loved the colors you are using. As I said before, for some reason I have gotten so sewing with purples is fun!! It is such a rich color.

Has any heard if Tink and Janice got home okay?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Stacey is home, she dmailed me, but didn't say anything about their get together or trip home

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks Cindy. Sorry, I was intending to comment on Rick's good luck--actually both of your good luck!!! That is really great he has another job.

Tink had commented early --can't remember yesterday or this morning--her hip was hurting her. Maybe I misread something.

Thought of you today at the show--very few craftsman making candles that has nice smells. No way I would have bought some of their combinations!! I can't help but wonder if some of them couldn't smell or they certainly wouldn't have been offering what they were for sale. Wasn't going to purchase from them anyways!!! Found a sistah who does better. Hummm wonder who that is?

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

Just stopping by ... Hi to everyone, hope your weekend was good. I'm so sorry for your ordeal Tia/Tina. Hope that they catch those scoundrels!!!

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Joycett Your Quilt is amazing.. Makes me want to learn to quilt even more than I did before but I guess I must learn to properly sew first...lol

Please do post pictures of the ornaments.. I would love to see som eof your works.

I havent gotten Tonys room done yet. I need to primer it and we only have about a half a can of primer so Im waiting until I can get to the store. Hopefuly tomorrow if Max comes home after the morning meeting. He is supposed to work tomorrow night but if it gets canceled he works during the day so its hard to tell what will happen.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)
