Date????????????????Tall Dark and Handsome???????????????

(Chris) Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

Marion, I don't smoke when I'm stressing or eat chocolate.. I drink Margaritas LOL!!!

All the pics were so cute.. we lost our 12 yr old Golden in August this year..the big dogs get old so fast :( I miss her alot, but for now we've decided to not get another dog. We had her cremated and she sits on a shelf in the corner of the living room watching over us :) We surrounded her with her favorite toys and pics of her that we've taken over the years. It's a nice spot..I'll take a pic one of these days and show it off. She was a very special lady to us..her AKC name was Samantha Bird Flusher, but we called her Sam.

Right now, we only have Miss Sarah, our indoor cat..she's around 9 mos old and she sure has her own personality! And about 3 wks ago, we realized that there are 2 half grown kittens living in the shed on our property. So we're now feeding them but they're definitely wild..I hope to overcome their shyness now that they know I bring food LOL..

This pic is Miss Sarah trying to figure out what I'm doing while I took her picture. I took this just a couple of weeks ago.

talk to y'all later!

Oh she is so cute Chris... You can tame those kitties... Just give them time... I can never see my life without at least one dog... but never again having 6. LOL
Hugs,
Susan

(Chris) Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

Susan, thanks, she is sweet but oh so ornery!

Six isn't bad.. at least they're not St Bernards or something BIG..lol
And I keep dropping hints about another dog, so I'm hoping Christmas will bring one. But I want something like a miniature Dachshund .. what my DH calls a "wannabe dog" LOL!!! After having two 100 lb dogs, those sure look little :) Course, he would love to have a Chocolate Lab, so maybe I'll have to find a puppy for HIM and that mini hot dog for me~
Chris

I have a parrott, and yes, they pluck feathers when stressed, or you change thier food, or surroundings.

Hope your saturday is going good for you all?

Female cats are more like that then male cats...LOLOL I hope you get your dog or find one down the road... Working with animals makes me love mine all the more... Cost me a small fortune to find out what her problem was and then she told me it was her hormones.. Nope was me...LOL She is moulting now and she hates me to bath her to soften her feathers or I should say the casing covering her new feathers...LOL She takes it like a lady I guess.. LOL now the hair dryer she does not mind...LOL After my babies are gone and I hope that is no time soon I think we will do the rescue part and have a mutt. Cindy was my best dog ever and she was a mutt .. I would tell her to go into the wood with the boys to protect them and she would.. She even found a snake when they were not paying attention ... Gotta love them all...
My Saturday was great and still is going great... I got to the post office and for me that was wonderful as they are always packed... Nice and calm in the house... That is the best part....
Huggers,
Susan

Boohooo Florida won! 31-20. Drats, drats and triple drats! So sorry Sis.. DON'T POINT THE GUN TOWARDS "S" NOW!!!
Ok.. waiting on OK vs Miz.

Yes I'm back. It has been one long day. Got stuck in town's traffic, didn't realize the Christmas parade was tonight! And it was drizzling. I'm sure that didn't bother the kids, but wait till they get the sniffles!

Marion, how was your 'double' date? I bet giggles were never ending!
I received a demo on a Babylock embroidery machine.. that thing is a beauty.. but the price scares me. Comparable to a Gammill long arm.. so..

Thank you Susan for the photos! If my oldest dog were to join my others in doggy heaven, I think I'll retire from raising anymore. Let Lola romp by herself. The cost of proper care has gone up so much. I don't understand how some folks can buy expensive breeds and not give proper medical attention especially starting them on heartworm program.

Tina-Tia, like LK says, we don't mind one single bit if you rant, rave, or complain here. This is the platform to take things off your chest, be it happy, sad or mad. Don't keep it all in.. and worse, don't disappear. We take each other seriously here, and none so far had dmailed me and complain on ANY one of you. That's sistahs for sure! We take the good along with the bad. Oh yeah, Punk Boy looks like a little pro!!

Phyllis, I am sure I have that pattern laying around somewhere, must be in a magazine, maybe. But that will be a good practise for applique as well.

If Trisha and I can do it (quit smoking), anyone can. I used to smoke 2 packs of Marlboro a day. Started with Camel non filter, trying to be cool, then got addicted to Marlboros and Coca-Cola. Stayed high on these for years, until one year, I decided to go cold turkey. Like Trisha says, you must have the desire. I still have the smokers' cough and it has been 24 years.

Unfortunately, my 'escape' now is food.

Hi Chris!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Evening Jaye, sure has been a quiet bunch today!
Had to run few errands and pick up a staple gun and I am going to paint it a very bright color so mum will know it is NOT HERS!

Got on a pot of split pea soup on the stove, get back from Church all I will have to do is put on a pan of cornbread and dinner will be ready!

Then I can settle down and get the Santa's put together!!!! Have three almost finished....

Just kind of a down day...must be the rain that is coming in..... figures, it has been nice most of the week, bike ride tomorrow so it is supposed to rain.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

I do understand Jaye what you mean about the cost of HW and Frontline ... I have to say I can afford it by working for the Vet I get mine at her cost but still is allot..... Yes has been quiet here today... Figures I'm around so is that way... LOL Ok I am going to go to bed early tonight and will either see you later or tomorrow...
Hugs to all,
Susan

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Trish, split pea soup and corn soup sounds yummy!! Would you believe I've never made split pea soup? Do you use ham bone for stock?

Yeah it's a raining here too. Cold and rain could be harbingers of depression unless you're indoors watching your favorite team beat the living daylights out of the opponents!!

Good night Susan! See you in the morning!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Yep, had a couple of good ham hocks for this batch. It smells so good right now!!!

December is my favorite and least favorite month of the year......makes good sense doesn't it??

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Actually the winter months will have the doctors writing the most prescriptions for depression.
Me and Kel were just talking about that.. blame it on shorter daylight hours. Yeah, and Christmas brings the out the holiday blues too!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

All done with cookies and candy-THANK GOD!!!! So will be headed home tomorrow am and I can get some rest-did not sleep hardly at all last night and don't anticipate being able to tonight either-my neck, shoulder and one foot are KILLING me, so I didn't help as much with the last recipe as I should've, but oh well.....my secret santa buddy will be surprised to get some baked goodies with her candle holders;) I wonder who that could be??

Tante Jaye-I sent you a dmail this am...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

^_^ ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yah, I had to look up "forgetteted"!! You got me "confuddled" good, Stacey!!
Two smiles.. Trisha... are you telling Stacey to send you some cookies? Some sistahs...............

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

WEll, she said they were coming with my candle holders so I am smilin' Big Smiles!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Nice try Trisha. Try 28 more times!!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Stacey I do wish you had one of the neck rolls a friend made me that you stick in the microwave, nuke it for a minute or two until nice and toasty and put it around your neck....sure does feel good!! Get some rest sweetie!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You know, I had one of those rolls which my BFF made for me. She had rice in it, but it sure worked.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Tina-Tia, you should be smiling now!! Oklahoma to the finals.. looks like it!

(Chris) Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

Hi Jaye!

I'm running back and forth from the computer to the OU game on tv.. I think we've got it, but it's too soon to celebrate yet. We've fallen apart at the end before. And that darn Florida team scares me! It'll be a nail biter game if it's us versus them!
3rd quarter's on.. I'll be back.. if not tonight, then tomorrow :)

Chris

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Whaddayamean if it's "us" vs "them" Chris?
Computers might pick Alabama, even though Fla beats them!! Anyway, it's gonna be an SEC team for sure to the BCS!! Right sistah Kathy, Deborah and Marion??

He he he...
I'm gonna kiss my pillow.. goodnight sistahs!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Mom has been glued to the game......OU so far!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I can't believe they scored above 60 for the last 5 games!! INCREDIBLE!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

There'll be lots of people willing to pay big money to see OU play in the finals.
Now I'm really off to bed and dream of blooming camellias..

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Trisha... I'm surprised you're not watching the WSU game Don's worked so hard on all day so that you NW viewers can watch. It's ok...
He asked me tonight how in the world my friend in WA can stand to live there... said it wasn't daylight till almost 8:30 this morn, and already dark at 4:30 this afternoon. SHEESH... not even 12 hours of daylight up there? No wonder the depression rate is so high in the great northwest.

I put my sewing machine away today, and pulled out my clay again... been learning something new... it's not working really well, but I'm trying to get better at it.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

But BJ, those are CATS on that side of the mountains......on the other hand...our DAwgs over here sure haven't done anything this year....my mum's been trying to give them to my cuz in OK...got our basket ball team and she thinks he should take the football team too!!! And you tell Don he's tellin' tales....I was watchin' the sun just peaking over hills at 7:10......it does get dark a bit early, just gives us more time to enjoy the Christmas Lights.

What Clay projects you have going!!? I've been making Santa hands and faces for the little Santa's

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well home from my hot date!! No Deborah, not tall dark and handsome! LOL Short, bright blue eyed and very blond plus a dash of spicy personality. I babysat the girls so son and DIL could have a night out!!! They don;t do it very often so it was good for them and me! We had a pizza party and watch Polar Express and WallE

Jaye, are you serious? Florida won? It was 17/17 last time I looked. Shucks!! Oh well so be it.

Trisha, split pea soup sounds so yummy!!! I haven't made any in years--guess I need to soon. We are suppose to have rains again Wednesday through Friday--predicting 70% plus percentage. Doesn't sound good--especially when I will be traveling on Thursday. Just have to leave earlier and drive slower.

BJ what are you doing with the clay now? Let us in on your project.

BTW, Trisha are you going to try the light bulb craft. I came home tonight and the first thing that happened was a light blew in my bedroom. Now was that wierd or not?

Tink, be careful traveling. Sorry to hear you are hurting so much.

It is very late and I am exhausted so will chat later today.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

You may be right about him telling tales... he just really hates winter... because he hates COLD, and because the days are shorter... he's more of a summer person.

I'm trying to cover glass Christmas ornaments... I broke 2 of them, then I decided to make my clay thinner so I could manipulate it better... that hasn't worked too well for me... so, I'm still playing with it. But, for tonight, my eyes are tired, so I quit.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Night Marion, that light bulb is trying to tell you something! I love the things you can make out of light bulbs....mom and I have several different Christmas ornaments made from light bulbs....I will post them when I get the stuff out and get the tree up.......sleep well....

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

HMMMM haven't tried that one BJ, just did the one where you put "snowballs" in the clear ornaments and the little snowman on top....
My eyes have been bothering me today....rain is coming in and I haven't been wearing my contacts as regularly as I should.........feel like they are full of sand...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

We rented WallE this last week too and LOVED IT!!!! DH and I both got teary eyed at the end...we also rented Step Brothers and almost peed ourselves laughing so hard!!

Trisha-yes-there are some coming for you and for Laura..

I have been trying to do ornaments too-the paint takes so long to dry that I am a thinking I won't have them done this year as I had wanted:( Oh well-peepes will be surprised nest year for sure:)

MORNING-going home in a couple hrs-WOOFREAKINHOO!!!!

(Tia) Norman, OK(Zone 7a)

Morning all. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SOONERS!!!!!!!
14 chicks so far and more a hatchin.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning early risers!
Hot cocoa anyone and some cinnie buns? Bring your own marshmallows!
It's blistering cold this morning.. and not going anywhere today. Think I'll do something productive, like read :D

So Marion, you survive the double date? That's so nice of you to give your son and DIL some 'escape' time.

Yep, it looks like Florida and Oklahoma heading for BCS.
I bet Tina-Tia and Chris must be hoarse today!!

I must be living in total ignorance BJ. This is the first time I heard of Christmas decorations using light bulbs covered in clay. But then, I had never attempted any other crafts that don't require fabric.

Not a winter person here neither. But Kel is. Yesterday, he was in shorts and Crocs and I'm covered from head to toe in 60* weather!!

If anyone hasn't seen WallE... borrow that movie! It's a movie with a heart with a big question mark on pollution :D

So niece, you're gonna bake some sugar free cookies for me?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye, did Sweet Treat Granny make it in one piece?

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Good Sunday Morning Sistahs !!!

I think I slept too long, I have a headache this morning... just dull, and will go away shortly... nothing to worry about.

Jaye... I'm not trying to cover light bulbs with polymer clay... just regular ole glass tree ornaments. Like these.
http://www.polymerclaycentral.com/pcc/ornament.html

Yeah !!!! Chickie Momma Tia... you're brood is growning so quick.

I know you're probably tired of baking, Fairy Feet... but wasn't it fun to get together with MIL and the SIL to bake? I'm sure you're ready to get home and resume your life, though.

More Coffee.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Cindy. MIL loves it, and Kel says, he had to put the head back on. BTW, thanks for the candy canes and I know you didn't send just one Hershey's kiss?
BJ, that looks painstakingly difficult but so pretty. Good luck my sistah!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Her head got broke. Man I thought I packed it really good. I'm so sorry Jaye. And no I didn't send just , LOL some little mouse must of got into the box while sitting at the PO, you think? LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It just came loose, Cindy! Don't you worry sistah, Kel promised me a bag ;) He was the mouse, apparently.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL, I totally forgot about you needing sugar free candy I'm sorry :(
