I didn't know people could get sick of cookies, isn't there a law or something against that?
Some blooms from my Fla. gardens.......
May be they really cant.
A cookie is smaller than a piece of pie or cake, of course when you eat three ata time there you go lol
Really, now ..... who stops at three??
:-)
trying to keep the meter below 300
DH tasted his first cookies from scratch this week - I kid you not. We're all recovering from way too many cookies. I never get sick of them.
for those of you who like to make things... these rocked!!!

YUM!
Printed it off. I'd use pecans though, I think, cuz that's what I have on hand. Sounds great!
Splendid! Did I tell you I got an Earthbox for Christmas from my mother? I'll be growing tomatoes just like the rest of you all next summer!
edited to add "drool...."

Wonderful, Carrie! My neighbor here has some earth boxes for her tomatoes. Enjoy!
Sigh....
very nice!
Jealous very jealous. All those fresh veggies and pretty flowers. Oh well, soon you will return north and bring spring with you. Until then thanks for sending a bit of spring with your pics. Can't wait for the real deal though I have to admit. :)
Wow--thanks for the photos, Louise! The beans--my weakness--looked great! I am circling the catalogs right now for my choices---I always choose Derby, because the flavor is outstanding--plants are a little floppy, though. But I always make a second, & sometimes third pick! Carrie---what are earthboxes?
Your making me drool with all that green Louise!!
Yes - very jealous here, Louise! Keep them coming.
Earth Boxes : http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/boxgardens/all/
Self-contained self-watering box with all the fertilizer for the season in it! Used by many NE Forum folks like Jan (grampapa), Emily (CapeCodGardener), and probably many more. There are look-alikes and clones and then brand name Earth Boxes, which is what I got. Louise's veggies in containers might be growing in EBs or something like them - I'm a novice! There are even instructions for making your own from recycled materials.
Nice comments, everyone! Thank you! I'm so happy that my little baby dahlia seedlings and vinca seedlings all looked great this morning. I hope there will be some pretty blooms on those at some point so I can show you those. Both packets were mixed colors, so it will be fun to see what I get.
Some of you might recall that I painted terra cotta pots last winter while I was keeping quiet with the flu. I did them in the Talavera style. Well, Hank gave me this cool Aztec pot as a Christmas present, and I'm having a ball painting it. It's even more fun when you feel good. LOL Here's a shot of the "before", and I'll show you the "after" when I have finished painting it.
Happy New Year to you all!
Louise
Oh I love that pot Louise!! Hank has great taste!!!!!!
Cool Louise! Have fun painting. Looks like the Aztec has a tummy ache.
Celeste - I agree! He is the best at thinking of great presents!
Victor - LOL! Wait 'til I get through with him! He may look even more so!!
Very cool, can't wait to see the result. He might scare away any plant munching critters don't ya think. Nice buzz cut too. :)
Cute Louise, you have a nice size back yard for being in a community.
Good point, Pat! I'm thinking I may place him where you see him in this shot. I put 5 large paperwhite bulbs in a pot that will fit right down inside Seminole Sam, so they'd stick up like hair. LOL I'll be sure to post the finished version. He's coming along nicely so far. I used a metallic copper color on his face and I like it.
Thank you, Jen. The large back yard was one of the things we liked best about the house. It was pretty bare when we moved in in 1994, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the yard when we retired. Hank planted his citrus "grove" in 1995, so it has had time to grow to full size at this point. The house isn't large, but it is perfect for the 2 of us.
You bet--less cleaning--that's one reason I loved the FL house! Very nice terra cotta pot---I wish I had more.
Yeah, Marilyn, let's hear it for less cleaning!!! That adds up to more time in the garden!! Glad you like Seminole Sam.....I wish I could find a source of unusual terra cotta pots for painting. They are very hard to find. Hank went on quite a search before he found Sam. He thought it would take me until April to finish painting him. Ummmmm - OCD, perhaps??? I'll be finished within the week. Once I get started, I just keep going. LOL
