I have offered to help a teacher install some plants in her classroom. They need to be shade-tolerant and on the small side. Plants that hang (like ivy) are fine. Could you help me come up with some ideas?
Classroom Plants
Pothos, heartleaf philodendrons, and snake plants are all good low-light, high neglect choices. Plus, they're cheap and easy to find. (although the Pothos and the phils can get somewhat large eventually, if they're happy.)
If it weren't so cold here right now, I'd send you cuttings...(it's going to be about 10 degrees here tonight.)
Marsha.
Snake plants can be spikey for children. So long as they are out of reach they'll be fine.
Spider plants may be an idea as are draceona. They are both fairly hardy plants.
Chinese evergreens, Swedish ivy
