sorry to dissappoint yall but....

We have lots of bear here in NH and when we have a "angry cub in the garden" the game wardens catch them, cage them and ship them to a new site where hopefully they will be much happier.Of course this is after giving them a few chances to straighten out there troublesome behavior.

Whatever is in your heart, I will be praying for you. It is apparent that your needs are such that there is no web site that would meet your demands. I also believe that you get what you give. (Reap what you sow) Perhaps you should start there.
Dave's Garden cannot be compared to anything else- as it is Dave's Garden, a most special place. I have no knowledge of the other place and have no intention of haviong any knowledge, as this is the special place. I tire quickly of reading and hearing about comparing, because there shouldn't be- either good or bad. Opinions are just that- opinions.
I'm new here at the Garden, check the threads often, post or not post depending on each circumstance. No use giving my input when I have nothing to input.... but then again, knowing me, will sometimes input for the fun of it.
I have formed wonderful friendships here and I, too,like many others that have posted, began to get my dander up when I sensed you were "taking a hit at them" ( for lack of better words). This is not the place to pick a fight... I sense we're not fighting people... this is a garden, a garden of friendships, and I think most would like to keep it that way. Again, Ckrdpast, maybe you need to check your heart and your motives. Again, I will be praying for you.
The site was developed and maintained by two wonderful people for a specific purpose. It is not a site that is supposed to cater to everyone's wishes. (Although it seems like they do their best to make sure everyone is happy!)

Thank you that you were quick to respond as the "father" of this garden. Again, it goes to show how prtective and how great it is that you watch over all of us!

Not trying to get back to sports,But learning about the computer is a whole other ballgame for me! I am cutting my teeth on dave's.I've been getting to know some of you and spreading my wings. So much encouragement I can't put to words.Iv'e been so overwhelmed with all the wonderful banter:),that I haven't gotten to the meat of the subject matter fo gardening. I'm going to try to work on my trade lists .I fear I will not have enough for all the requests Imay get. I am more of a yardner!Ipromise I will go as fast as I can. My strength is building a little more each day ,as I'm not used to sitting so long at a time.I think
crkdpast is a cautious person and may be slow to warm up to us or maybe he didn't realize we would interpret what he said the way he meant it. Maybe he will come back to explain!

ok, Lilith. It's hard to tell with some names who's a she and who's a he. For a long time I thought Pete2 was a he and then I found out different. If I'm not sure who is what, I just go by their Dave's Garden name. Safer that way.

Ckrdpast all discord should be left at the door, when you enter the garden. This is a home, and a large family of adoptees who have found refuge and love here in the garden. If you accept this in the way it is offered, then you too will find love and acceptance. If you were expecting "Spikism", well, it just ain't happening here!

Ckrdpast since I joined DG a year or so ago I have always been one to put things blunt (don't worry I wouldn't be to blunt). So let me put it this way...
You say that "gardenweb has a**holes galore" and DG reminds you gardenweb.
YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!!!!TAKE A LONG LOOK IN THE MIRROR! Everyone else isn't a "a**holes" just qrst___. fill in the blank.
The reason you lurk is because you can't get along with anyone anywhere.
DG and GW are full of nice people. The problem with GW is that the site admin at GW is a real jerk not the members (I am a FORMER GW member who left because of spike).
Ckrdpast even though you have trashed on the people at both sites I bet that every single person that posted here would still be your friend if you gave us a chance myself included. That is the kind of people that we are here at DG.

OK here is my 2cents... I think that "Ckrdpast" is getting exactly what he/she wanted!! ATTENTION plain and simple. that person simply wanted to ruffle a few feather's and get a responce to their thread, and we fell for it!! because if you have noticed Ckrdpast hasn't posted since the replies are pouring in...they are probably sitting back LOL!!
Just a little note to you Ckrdpast...we stick together because that's what friends do. you need to make up your mind are we considered to be Friend or Foe!!

Being one who occasionally visits GW, and one who is a frequent member here. I have to say there is no comparison between the two. Here Dave allows us to do what we want. And is very accomadating in every way. When a suggestion is made about changes and all that, he either makes them or tells you why not. You do not find involvement like that over at GW! Spike does not come into each forum and post and get involved. Dave does! It's fun here, I am not saying there isn't any fun at GW but there it is mostly about being serious. You cannot in my opinion be so serious and bookish all of the time. My goodness thats insane. Sometimes you have to babble and have others babble along with you. It takes away from the same old hum drum!!!!
Here it's lively and friendly and almost always you get a response to your questions or posts. I don't think I have any that went unresponded to. GW is were all the fighting and bickering goes on. Just this past week or two they was a big stink about Australians having their own C&S boards. Woooohoooooo you shoulda seen some of the responses. It has been deleted of course, because whenever there is discord there everything is deleted so newbies don't see what happens. SO far I haven't seen that here. If I am wrong please correct me. If things got way way out of control then I would understand. It was nasty but not worth deleting so you wouldn't tarnish your image.
Anyhow, ya see I am babbling, you CANNOT compare Dave's and GW. There is no similarities to the two.

Checkeredpast...I think your remark was uncalled for. I find this place wonderful. I was pretty busy until lately, and unable to participate. I love the comaraderie...even though I havent made friends yet. I have made a couple of trades, Im quite pleased. I love the way Dave does things here. I am also a member of GW...but rarely go there. I imagine I will be there alot before spring though. I love the site so much Im becoming almost addicted to it. I read every day here. If I have something to say, I do. If I dont know a reply...I leave it someone who can reply with knowledge, and experience. Pull your bootstraps up and get on with life. It is too short to bicker over trivial matters. Live and let live is my motto. Better yet...the Golden Rule!

I to think the remark was uncalled for. I have only been here a short time, but i feel right at home. i have made so many trades i have had to dig new beds! The people here are GREAT! And it is a very friendly place to hang out. Also it is a very helpful bunch, here if i have a question I just ask, i do not feel stupid in doing so. I have had flowers for years, and most of them i just have them because I think they are pretty, here I am learning the names to them! I have made some great friends here already. And i have learned more about harvesting my seeds, (still have some I have to learn) So that I can share with others!

I offer my humblest apologies to everyone here at dave's garden....I know that "excuses are like *behinds* - everyone has got one and they are stink" so i will not make any excuse for myself, but i will offer up a little explaination...

i had a very bad week last week, culminating in what i am now calling "black friday"

i made a terrible and mindless decision to take it out on all the good people here at daves garden - for this i am truly sorry.

i spent saturday and sunday kicking myself for it,and i feel that all the comments posted after mine are well deserved, although im not sure if they can make me feel any worse than i already do...

We all have our bad days and that is the time to sit back and think before we jump. I had a few bad days myself last week and I just stayed away from Dave's Garden for a couple of days until I was able to get myself together again and it does help. Glad that you have come back to us and do hope that you enjoy being with us here at Dave's.
Forgive and Forget and as of now it's in the past and that is where it shall be.

Sorry you have been having a hard time. We all vent once in awhile when we have troubles, just remember the folks here didn't cause them.
I have learned tons of stuff here. Not just from the threads I started, but by reading posts and using the "watch this thread" feature on My Page. I was slow at learning how to use My Page, but boy, is it ever helpful when you learn it.
Right now I have two swaps going. I have a new pond and some of the plants are very expensive. I was able to get 2 folks to swap a water lily and some miniature cattails for some ajuga I have. This place is great!
I was on Gardenweb for awhile first and you are right; it is mainly for trading although I like the "New to Gardening" forum.

Well that was actually a good thread! Your apollogy is of course accepted. But I truly feel that this post has served the purpose of showing us just how important this site is to all of us! As for Garden Web I have concluded it too must be a decent place since so many of our members have come from there and or still go back at times.
