This thread here is solely to post our likes and dislikes so it will help swap buddies select or make that special gift for us.
Tips for the newbies (and addicts) at swapping.
~~When sending out fragile items such as clay and glass, please be sure to protect them, by bubble wrapping, and avoid mailing them out in flat envelopes cause they can get 'chewed' on conveyors.
~~If you're anxious as to whether your swap buddy would receive their item, purchase a 'delivery confirmation' from the USPS. This helps you keep track of whether it has arrived.
~~If deciding to insure your gifts, make sure you retain all receipts. For you that make your own, do keep tab on all your receipts of purchases to make that gift.
Post Office do demand to see proof of costs.
HAVE FUN!

§Sweet Interruptions- List of Likes and Dislikes§
(Hear me hitting the floor) I'm FIRST; never first at anythng. WOW!)
As far as help for my 2009 buddy: I'm not much help. While I collect dragons, I don't collect a particular kind. Some of mine are funny, almost all the non-serpentine kind (long sweeping tails), they come in candle form, pewter, wood, ceramic, big little and in-between. Just what strikes my fancy.
My son turned me on to Country music a couple of years ago and I love it. Mostly the cross-over stuff.
As most of you know, I sew and haven't met a color yet that I don't love! Mostly warm or bright; not a pastel sort of person. No bling, bling for me or lace or little bitty flowers. My mother tried that with no success.
I am always looking for things to put my sewing, crafting, thread, etc. in; I could live in container heaven.
Food is another thing I love! If my buddy is by any chance the gal who makes fudge all she has to do is send the that big pot of hers full of the stuff!
Is that enough to get her started. If not, ask Stacey (Fairy 1004) my DIL. She knows me best.
Yay!!What a great idea!!!! I will be back soon : )
Ok..Iove flowering tropicals and variegated foliage plants.
I enjoy junque ; } crafting..found objects that use to make stuff.
Mostly I make stuff for the garden. I have 2 kitties cleopatra jones and katrina.
The colors in my house are mostly muted earthy colors with red and yellow in my kitchen.
I guess my decorating style is global. I Have stained glass lamps in every room except the kitchen gotta work on that : )
All I can think of right now. I find it hard to talk about me..weird huh lol!! Oh and I must mention I love whimsical things.

Great idea, Jaye! Thanks. I'll get started and come back to edit/add later.
Likes: Gardening, especially butterfly and hummingbird. Bird feeders, bird baths. Metal planters (see the perfect items Cordeldawg sent me - I would have picked these out myself). Sewing and crafting, am learning to quilt. Food and cooking. 'How To' books like cooking, sewing, crafting.

A little about me and my household. My hubby decided this year to take in Foreign Exchange Students. We're involved in a program called AFS, American Field Service, the oldest exchange program in existence today.
LIKES: In this order. We now host a boy named Michael, from Austria... he's so wonderful that I'm going to really hate to send him home in June.
We already know who our 2009-10 student will be. She will hail from Greenland, and we're so excited to have her here.
My husband and I live on Cedar Creek Lake in North East Texas. We live on 3 lots, about an acre. We bought this house 4 years ago as a total remodeling project. It's still a work in progress, but we've made great strides inside and out.
Here's my list of priorities, Likes, dislikes, and general interests...
1. Gardening... garden art... plants, shrubs, small trees... I'm a butter/hummer newby (thanks to Deborah)... I have a large yard, and many different types of gardens in different areas. Everything from a Tropical garden on the lake level (started, not finished), Secret Garden (also started) with butter/hummer attractions, English garden (*sigh* also started) in the front yard.
2. Home Improvement... we're always building or rebuilding something.
3. Home Decor:
LR/DR Captain's Quarters type of nautical. Gumball red walls, with lots of brass, wood, tall ships, ship components.
Master BR/BA Spaghetti Western (was supposed to be Tuscan, but we got carried away with wood walls) Plasterd washed walls, faux red brick wall, tongue and grove wood wall and ceiling. Italian spa bath.
Guest BR/BA not finished, will be a garden theme with lots of pinks and greens when it's finished.
Kitchen Right now it's a thorn in my side, but someday it will be red, white, black and gray.
4. Music I don't listen to a lot of radio or CD's, I watch mostly TV... CSI, History Channel, Naked Archeologist, Bible Theology and History shows... Science Channel, Forensic Files, LMN Movies... Rarely do I watch sitcoms.
5. Favorite Color I like all colors, but muted and earthy.
6. Favorite Store I shop a lot online because of living too far from the GOOD stores. But, when I get to Dallas, the craft stores are my first stop. Other than that, all I have out here is Walmart.
7. Favorite Foods LOVE FOOD in general, most anything from the sea, and a lot of junk foods. I'm not a big sweet eater, but I do enjoy my chocolate in the afternoon for that 3:00 low we all get.
8. Favorite Scents I like fruity scents in the bathrooms... spicy scents in the living area. I also like to smell fresh baked bread coming out of the oven, and when I'm sauteing onions, and when the wind is just right it blows the scent of the gardenias toward the house, and when I walk past the butterfly ginger and my arm sweeps a bloom.
9. Crafts I'm a novice in a lot of things. A master at none of them. But I do enjoy sewing, polymer clay, re purposing various objects, machine embroidery, and the more I stick around this group of ladies, the more I want to do someday.
10. Favorite Spare time Activities Huh? what's that?
I'm sure I'll be editing this from time to time... I do tend to change my mind now and then. Ask my hubby, he knows first hand.

Ok, I'm back. Let's see
My name is Christine, I was born and raised in Modesto, CA, moved to the sticks considered, but isn't really, Malvern, AR 2 1/2 years ago, actually we lived in Hot Springs for 6 months then bought a house way out in the woods. I'm 36 years old.
I listen to all different kinds of music, modern hard rock, alternative, 80's hair bands, modern country, classic country, classic rock, new hip hop (but no gangsta rap), oldies, disco, and I think I'm done. I don't watch hardly any TV, but do like Ice Road Truckers, House, old Friends episodes, Iron Chef, Bazaar Foods, Two and a Half Men, and there's others I just can't think of right now.
I like deep red and light earth tones.
My pants are a size 14 with a 36" length, shirts are Large no matter the brand.
My house is beige w/ white trim all over, all of the sink faucets, lights, etc are brushed nickle, all appliances in the kitchen are black (except for the fridge which is stainless) I didn't paint the house this color or put the appliances in, except for the fridge, I bought the house like this and since it's newer I don't see the need to paint it until it needs it.
Favorite foods are Italian, Mexican, Steaks, and Seafood.
I'm a beginner gardener and crafts, and am embroidering these butterfly and flowers pillow cases. I don't like counted cross stitch and I don't have a sewing machine.
Scents, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, grape, and strawberry.
And I have a cat, she's Maine Coon Cat with brown tabby coloring, and completely insane for a 13 year old cat.
If anyone has anything else I could post on here please let me know.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Robin }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Nice to see you .... Has been a very long time and I am so happy to see you....
Hugs,
Susan
Hi Susan, I hope to catch up with everyone over on the other thread today.
Hugs to you.
Geezh. This is hard since I like anything and everything. Here's some things I like especially so.
I don't collect things as in a collection per se' but I do like hardscapes for my garden, stepping stones, rocks, metal or iron even rusty stuff. My kitchen is black and burgundy with chickens and roosters. My sunroom is rattan. I have a blue and taupe bathroom.
I raise live butterflies, so I'm partial to any thing with butterflies on it. Shirts xl, window decals to keep the birds from crashing into my sunroom windows, bird feeders, bird baths, butterfly feeding logs, anything outdoorsy for wildlife. I like woodpeckers and bluebirds (live ones).
I enjoy sending birthday and note cards to family and friends but I'm the worlds' best at writing oops belated again:( My memory is terrible. My husband says I enjoy buying stamps.
I love candles! I love any scent like lavender, cinammon, cookie scents, holiday scents, spicy scents, gardenia. Not fond of vanilla scents though. Helps eliminate my ciggy butt smell in my sunroom. I am a respectable smoker though. I don't throw my butts on the ground and I don't smoke in my house except in MY sunroom. EDIT:
>update to say I've quit smoking! Yea
I like parfume, cologne powder and lotions body washes soaps bubble baths pedicures etc..
I really could use a car ifin any of my sistahs are millionaires. Just kidding. A truck will do.

Sorry I'm a bit late on this; I want to go through it thoroughly, but I haven't had the time. I'm going to put my preferences on and then mark the thread as unwatched again.
So since people have been doing "introductions" I'm Laura Stevenson, as of Jan. 6th I'm 30 years old. My direct family includes my husband, Sean Clark and Step-daughter Sage Clark, age 7. I have two cats; Nero, male black shorthair, and Koshka, female Lynx point Siamese. A lot of you know my mom, Zhinusmom; I spend a lot of time with her. My brother and my grandmothers are also in town. I moved around a lot as a child, including living in Tai Wan for 9 mo. but my family has always been here and we moved back a little over 15 years ago. I have a B.A. in UK history and would like to go back and get my Masters in Library Sciences. I love photography and have over 10,000 pictures I took on my computer, though most of these are from two trips to the UK, 35 and 45 day respectively. My defining characteristic is that I am a geek, my DH is a geek to so it works well for me.
I don't really collect anything per se' but I do have a bunch of random stuff that fits my interests.
Things I like:
Protective entities, especially Greenmen/women, gargoyles, fu dogs and historically inspired items, but I like the idea of any type of protective entity; I figure it can't hurt.
Fairies any fey creatures (wood spirits, gnomes, elves, etc.. if they are even vaguely "otherworldly" I might be into them, traditional (not Disney) and twisted, see Brian Froud, Charles Vess and Jasmine Becket-Griffith for ideas, anything like that is fine, and anything that is a bit twisted like http://www.sculpturefromtheheart.com/myimpishgrin.htm I'm also way too amused by.
Water inspired, sea, streams, rain, marine animals, etc...
Moons, I love moons, anything moon related is great.
"Goddesses" mother earth, Bastet, Maiden/mother/crone, Artemis/Diana, etc...
Ladybugs, my "nickname" in High school was ladybug and I'm actually quite fond of them, realistic is better than cartoonish, but anything is fine.
Asian inspired, Chinese is my favorite.
Horses I do have several art or sculpted.
Goats, it's part of all my astrological signs and I relate to them.
Cats Sage and I are both quite into cats.
Cthulus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu
Bizarre anything slightly weird, warped, or odd I'm usually amused by.
Favorite colors: blue, green and black.
I'm not fond of yellow or orange unless natural (includes painted flowers etc...).
Food Stuff:
I like most foods, I don't like tofu, beats and turnips can't think of anything else I flat out don't like.
I like hot foods, but I can't really eat them anymore.
I'm not a sugar addict, unless you count drinks, but I like jelly beans (Jelly Bellies especially), peanut butter cups, Smarties, chocolate covered wafers, butterscotch, Andes mints, Nerds, and a couple other types of candy and will finish them within a year of getting them.
I am salt addict.
Favorite type food is probably Chinese food, and unfired Spring rolls.
I love all types of berries.
I love almost all types of cheese.
Craft materials are always welcome, wide range of interests, very few things wouldn't be used eventually, but I do leather work mainly, I have been doing more with clay, paper arts and would like to do more sewing.
I am an unrepentant bibliophile; I have wide range of genre interests. You should take a look at my wish list on Amazon if interested in going this direction http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/2F2N6YRLHAAPT/ref=cm_wl_rlist_go .
I love games of all types.
I am lacking in plants, I prefer perennials and useful plants (edible/medicinal).
Favorite scents: Coconut, Vanilla, "Rain", Herbal and Berry.
Some strong scents bother me, especially those that are chemically created.
Favorite flower: I don't really have one, but it I had to pick it would be Iris.
I'm not too into holly these days.
Favorite music: There is no way I could explain my music tastes to anyone else. I listen to a bit of everything. If I had to pick a "favorite" for gifts it would be Filk.
Home Décor: Don't worry about it, we have no unifying décor, my entire house is a Hodge podge; vaguely most of my nominally blue, with Burgundy and Tan in the bedroom.
Favorite store: If we're talking about gift certificates go with Amazon.com
Movies etc...: Once again my movie interests are eclectic, I like a bit of everything and I don't think I could pick a favorite. I don't have cable, but I love CSI, Law and Order, NCIS, House, Mythbusters, and watch them on DVD. I also like Iron Chef, What not to Wear, and some others I only get to watch at other people's houses. I'm also quite fond of nature and history documentaries.
Sage is really into rocks and cats and has been for long enough I don't think it'll change. Any type of rocks and anything cat related. She also likes fairies and fey creatures. She doesn't read very well yet, but I read to her and she has books on CD; she loves Harry Potter, Spiderwick and Tamora Pierce's Tortall books. She is not really either a girly girl or a tom boy, but far more on the tom boy side; she loves dress, action/role-playing video games, and zombies as an example. I wouldn't say she had a favorite color, but pink is acceptable.
This thread should be called "Getting to know you" ^_^
Interesting...........
I think you are right about that! Glad we did this though.
ok, I'm done pouting, so here's a start.. as others have said..I'm sure I'll keep changing this as I go :)
Likes: Gnomes w/googly eyes; fairies, bluebirds, taking photos of nature, sunflowers, actually just about any flower! Spring when the flowers are starting to finally come alive, I love to read science fiction, dragons, Anne McCaffrey, my main hobby is scrapbooking (I'm doing one for my GD's 16th bday which is 4 years away, so I have plenty of time LOL), the colors of green and blue, sitting on the patio admiring my flowerbeds, full moons, starry nights, riding around in the car on the backroads, talking to family as often as possible, boneless buffalo wings with bleu cheese dressing, banana bread (I make a wonderful banana bread- DH says so!!) , Road trips by myself (I drive to Iowa at least once a year by myself..I love it), puppies and kittens, flea markets, going to garage sales, watching OU football. I love candles..found a new scent that I adore.. Victorian Rose.. wow!!
Dislikes: winter, snow, COLD, lol.. picking weeds, rude drivers, mean parents who make kids cry for the heck of it, being so far away from family, collard greens. Candles with food scents LOL... makes me want to eat more and I don't need that!!
I collect ceramic cats..love the ones by Annaco Creations and the ones I find at Cracker Barrel restaurants (The name of the company escapes me right now.. which is about par for the course LOL) well DUH... FENTON is the name of the company that makes the cats at Cracker Barrel!
My kitchen is done in yellows with sunflowers being the main decoration, but I did find a neat wallpaper that's a sponged-green color with ladybugs, dragonflies and sunflowers on it. I've never put up wallpaper before, but guess I'm going to learn now! And I want to repaint the cabinets, soooooooo.. guess it'll be yellow too!
I'll be back with more :)
Edited..to update my brain cramp on the FENTON company LOL

I am in central Arkansas about an hour north of Little Rock. DH and I have 2 acres of yard, and I love planting bushes, trees, and flowers all over.
I make fudge for gifts and to sell. My best thing is my "Fudge Birthday" cake. Its not a cake at all but made up to look like one for the fudge lovers out there.
I love swans, antique cups and saucers, nintendo DS lite games(seek and find ones), flamingos, but my favorite is anything Thomas Kinkide with the gazebos, garden gates, and gardens.
The plants I love are daffodils(I can't get enough of them), lillies of all kinds, brugs, hollyhocks, just about anything that blooms.
Cathy

ATTENTION... this isn't my thread... but I have a suggestion...
Instead of adding another post to amend your "Likes and Dislikes"... could we just EDIT our original thread?
It may just be me, but I think it would be helpful to not to have to search the entire thread for another post for a person.
