Heck Max is re-arranging the bedroom around me at the esk right now..lol
Am working on a Slideshow for our christmas this year from today on out since we have so much to be thankful for.. You deserve it, Sistah!!!!
Thanks for the link to ebay. I went there and all I found were ones that were expensive. I made a bid on one for $4.99, lol. It's for my mom she likes to make persimmons bread and cookies.

Thank You Cindy.. Hows things going in your neck of the woods?
Weather wise, fog till about 10 am then up in the 70's. Busy sewing and making candles. Other than that, right here on DG. I don't even have to leave my chair, sewing machine and pc with 3 feet of each other, lol.
Wow not too bad at all. We had 78 yesterday and it dropped today, started raining and hasnt stopped. They say tomorrow our high will be 50's and possible freeze tomorrow night.. Weather wont make up its mind... I wish I could have everything set up together but we just dont have the room yet.. Maybe eventually we can add on in the back but for now we are making due and getting ebtter at it...
I will be back after a bit.. Max has the bedroom moved around and needs to move the pc and desk...
Not a problem Jaye.......the problem is trying to keep up with everyone!!!!!! It is beyond me!! I am working on something really fun for a swap right now.....I'll post a picture of it once I get through the swap...if it turns out the way I want I think you'll all get a laugh out of it....sorry I can't say more right now:)
Survived the evening.....Angels from clothes pins, and a sled from craft sticks....hot glue burns (as if I don't have enough from doing the Santa's) exhausted, but we had a lot of fun and i won a pretty little angel in the drawing they had.
Night all......
Cindy, let me teach you how to get things cheap on ebay. First, DO NOT bid until the last 30 - 60 seconds, depending on your connection speed. The faster your connection, the later you bid. As it's getting close to coming to a close, refresh your page constantly to see if anyone else is bidding. Always determine what price you will not go above. Make your first (and only) bid at the last moment at the price you want to pay, plus a few pennies. For example, if you are willing to pay $10.00, then at the last moment, put in a bid for something like $10.78... then if someone else bid $10.75, you still win it at a good price. If you bid early, you just up the price for the seller. And oh, by the way, I both buy and sell on ebay, and I love it when I'm the seller and people bid early...
Also, only pay by paypal. If you haven't set up a paypal account, please do, it protects you as the buyer, and also protects you if you are a seller. Only the seller pays the paypal fees. For buyers it is free. Or, pay by credit card, but I personally feel paypal is much safer especially as a buyer.
So, is the one I posted in the link the kind of thing you are looking for? That one is at $4.99 plus shipping (oh, always look at shipping and handling charges as well, some people wayyyyy overcharge for that).
Hope that helps!
Brenda
Brenda, Thanks for the tips. Yes I have paypal and yes it was the link you sent me. Yes, I did bid on the one for $4.99. Yea alot of the shipping charges are high. This one is priority.
I was looking at an old fashioned grinder yesterday on Ebay and one of them had over $17 to ship it!!! I ambout fell over-darn thing can fit in the reg sized Flat rate box!!! That is almost doubel what it should be, so I passed even though the price was only like $8. I would rather they be up front than trying to pad the shipping costs:(
OMG-you HAVE to see what Phyllis made me!!! I am dancing around!!! WOOHOO!!!
careful there Stacy don't want ya to get hurt bumping int any chairs or anything LOL
Ok Stacy asked me back in Sept /Oct about making her a piece for her kitchen window and what she liked so I did some searching and found a pattern to alter to what she wanted. soooo after playing with the pattern and checking with the store for the colors needed and checking again ....this is what she has coming in the mail soon.
Morning everyone. I did not see any coffee, so I will make a fresh pot, ANy request for breakfast?
Ohhh Phyllis, another master piece from the professional glass worker for sure!
That is so pretty, and I personally know your work is good because I have it and seen it up close!!!
Glad you are going to make her very Happy girl. I can see her now, with her little fairy wings going 90 miles an hour, just strutting all over the place!
LK
Morning LK and Girls

1Anjl, is not only having medical problems of her own, her 21 year old son was admitted to the hospital with stroke like symptoms, and they are still trying to figure it all out. Send them both hugs and prayers please. She is posting on the this thread.

Thanks
LK
Oh, Ann Marie is having a tough time. So sorry to hear of her son. Thanks for making us aware, LK.
What's all this about drunk chickens? Can see it now ..... a few cocktails - then time for the chicken dance! BJ, you may want to put away anything breakable. You may have a rowdy bunch in your house!
Phyllis, the stained glass for Stacey is beautiful! How, how, how do you find time to make all those santas, stained glass, quilts, and drive the bus????
Brenda, NO orange flowers here. DD has wanted pink flowers all along. I think Jaye mentioned orange in relation to the Platinum Wedding shows. I'm thinking we may use some ferns. When thinking of Old French Quarter, I think of scrolled wrought iron banisters, light poles and hanging ferns. A local rental place is supposed to be getting in black street lights that look like the gas lamps in New Orleans. We may look at those and use hurricane globes on the tables with ferns/flowers around the base. I agree, different shades of pink would be pretty. It will depend on what's available that time of year within reason. Looking forward to seeing Tony's light display!
Tina, should we be making little scarves for those poor chickies? Brrrr .... makes me shiver to think of no neck feathers. That little tuft on their head is cute!
Can you believe I actually got something accomplished yesterday? Got a good start on my stocking swap project. And made headway on my Victorian Santa (who is no longer Victorian). He morphed into a woodland Santa and 'caretaker of the birds'. I'll post his photo soon. Today I need to finish the two wreaths DH asked me to make for the front doors to his office. They have pheasant feathers and feather balls on a wreath with red berries. Was supposed to finish them yesterday but got so involved with the other two projects that I forgot. Ooops!
Morning everyone...
Phyllis that piece is one very pretty piece! Fairy will definetly be very happy with it for sure...
LK I will keep 1Anjl in my thought s throughout the day.. Hopefully they will figure out soon what is happening with her son soon.
I think I need coffee today and thank goodness I didnt have to make it... We got woke up early this morning by Maxs boss saying tonights work had been canceled and he needed to come in this morning.. The house is still upside down after all the re-arranging last night so I have major clean up in order along with switching Tony & Tristens closets, Painting Tonys new room, Cleaning our bedroom and finding my shoes.....lol
Debra your woodsland santa sounds very cute.. I cant wait to see pictures.. Also please do post pictures of your wreaths when you get them done..
Morning, wow that glass work is a beauty. Prayers and thoughts are still going to Anjl and her family.
I think my sis in laws sister would do the quilting for .1 cent. take the width by the length and times by 1 penny, I am sure you could put it into a flat rate priority box.
Here is her link, when you contact her tell her Darlene Dunavant (my mom had one quilted by her this past week) sent you to her.

I had a sneaking suspicion that I missed something on the previous thread. Sure enough, I pulled it up last night but got interrupted and didn't read it all before this new thread was started.
Lisa, sistah BJ did a great job of describing how each of us have something to contribute and we are here for each other. Glad you are here with us. Sounds like you are going to show us what strength and bravery is all about. You've already shown great inner strength. Never be afraid to share - we all have our stories (some of us have lot's of stories - LOL). Let's just say, if experience makes you wiser and more interesting, we are some of the wisest, most fascinating women you will ever meet!!! LOL!
Morning sistahs...
Don came home early last night... poor baby, his cold has gotten the best of him. Of course, it doesn't help that he was in Salt Lake City where it's cold as all get out, got 3 hours sleep before catching a plane to Dallas then having to go straight to AA center for another game. When the game started, his coworker sent him home. He was in bed by 8:00. He's off today, and I really doubt he'll move very far away from the bed all day long. I'll go to town today to get him some meds. I gave him Niquil last night, but he really hates that stuff.
LOL... Donna... I haven't rearranged my house, and I'm always on a hunt for my shoes.
Debra... you're probably the busiest woman I know these days... you've always got so many projects in the making that I'm not surprised that you forget hubby's wreaths. Isn't it his job to remind you?
OH my, Ann Marie has had her hands full for sure. She's one tough lady, but when it comes to worrying about her kids, we all know how helpless that can make her feel. I pray they find the problem soon, and he'll be alright.
Phyllis... another really busy lady... never a dull moment in your life, huh?
Another beautiful piece for a sistah. I actually have one of your pieces, and I love it so much. Stacey is going to so proud of that when she sees it.
WOW... first day of December... my, my, how time has flown this year. I'm usually all ready for Christmas by this time... but I'm just slow this year, and now feel like I have to catch up... all because I just looked at the calendar and had to turn the page. SHEESH
More coffee.
Ummm, BJ, he did remind me ...... I made 1 1/2 wreaths last weekend but ran out of feather balls. It won't take much to finish the second wreath. Take good care of Don. David has had a bad cold for several days and mostly laying around but sounds like he's turning the corner this morning.
BJ so sorry to here that cold is getting the best of Don... I hope he gets to feeling better soon. O and by the way I found a pair but its not the pair I have been looking for..
O My calender still says November too......lol Need to fix that.....
Debra I agree each of us can help one another in some way.. You all have been a wonderful blessing to our family and I really apprecaiate all your kind words, wishes and prayers while we go through our tough time. Its nice to have friends to go chat with.. I only have 2-3 local friend and one in Ohio that I can talk with and sometimes its hard to tell them what is happening when they have their own issues they are dealing with..
Pancakes anyone??/
I'm trying to take care of him... it was a bit hard to do when he was 1000 miles away though. Now that he's home... I can "nurse" him a lot better. Men are such babies when they're sick... and Don get's grumpy when he's not feeling good too... but I have to try to get him better today because he doesn't have much time off this month... Today and Wed are his only days off before Christmas... he's not as tough as he used to be... seems as the years march on, he's slowing down more.... LOL... now, I wonder why?
Well Good Morring all
Its my first day layed off and what have I done Shoveled snow 2 times this is work but the plow went by so I hope that is it for now I like to get that part done as soon as he comes by so it doesn't frezze.

Dimmer so sorry to hear about all that snow.. I wish I was in a cooler area i miss seeing snow and havent been home in over 5 years to even try to be able to see it.. Your snack mix sounds good..hmmmmm
BJ good things he's home. Take care of yourself too though and dont over do it okay...
Well Im off to get some work done for the day but will be back after a bit..
Heres some holiday decorating cheer!
Have question my recipe calls for rolled oats. I have Quacker oats does that mean I have to roll them with a rolling pin? or can I just put than in I don't know what they mean this recipe is very confussing
Kim
you should be fine with just reg. oats I think....
LOL... you're so funny Kim... no, rolled oats doesn't mean they've been rolled over with a rolling pin... you should be fine with just plain Quaker Oats... hehehe... that just struck a funny cord with me...
Thanks for making me smile this morning.
And, now I'm off to the store to get Don some meds... and a few other things while I'm out. He thinks he wants to put up the outside decorations up today... I told him NO... but he doesn't listen to me. He'll probably have them done while I'm gone... ugh...
Well I guess you can tell I don't bake and I do use subitutes(SP) now I was to use Raspberry jam and all I have is Raspberry cake and pastry filling think that will work
Morning All,
Well it is raining here but is suppose to clear off... I will try to take a picture of our tree later after I run around... What a beautiful stained glass piece you did there..... My house looks like a bomb struck and today is my last day off before work tomorrow... so I have to move my lard butt and get this cleaned later...We only have the lights or some of them on the tree ... You will all have to excuse me as I can never keep up with all the posting that goes on here so I just jump in... There is no way I can read all and take it in.... So Kim how is your first day off? I have been depressed and part of it is cause Mary's sister died last week and this makes 3 siblings in a year.. She has her twin left and a few brothers but they seem to be going fast... Then I find out Mary stopped taking her Alzheimer's meds a year ago as the cancer doctor said he does not believe she has it... Well he does not have to live with her... Mary does not leave the house without me and trust me I have offered to join her up with seniors and her other kids but nope she has to tend to ME. Then get a call late last night her twin is in the hospital and is doing ok but if she goes I am afraid Mary will go also... Terri is not in good health... Oh Mary is my 72 year old MIL and she lives with us... Most days are fine but lately she is driven me nuts... She does not mean it but she is.... She is up my butt and every turn I make she is there.... I know this sounds mean but I love her very much but at times I need space... Yesterday I went to my sons house just to chill and not have someone asking me every ten mins. if I need a drink or can she get me something.... Mary does not have allot to do with Kevin her son my husband not that he does not want her to but if I killed him she would say she did not and not me... but she was a slave to her husband and that is a whole another ball of wax but when she moved in here almost 16 1/2 years ago she thought she had to take the roll of tending to me... I mean like my son was wearing one of my new golf sweaters this weekend and she said oh don't you think you should take that off before you mess it up on your mother.... Son looked dumb founded... Well I had given him the new pull over sweater as it was a mans... She just grumbled when I told her it was Dave's now.... I could not find my slippers this week and yesterday I find a brand new pair of boy/mens slippers where I sit... I said oh who's are these she said I had Dave pick them up for you ... I said thank you very much but do you know they are mens she said yeah I asked he get you them as you seem to like wearing Kevin's... Well I liked Kevin's cause I could find them... Ok off my soap box but is a little of what is going on here... I know my MIL means well and I would do anything for her as I love her... but at times I need space and she does not see that She is also mean at times to others the way she speaks to them... 3 years ago she was yelling like a nut in the middle of the living room at my then 4 year old granddaughter over she said / she said... Parents were there and did not know what to do.. I walked into the room took my GD OUT of the room and then asked Mary what the heck she was doing???? She said Nadia misbehaved today and told her parents she did not... WOW that was a night and the week that followed was awful... She was like a two year old.... Took her to doctor and then told Doc and Mary if she ever did that again she could pack her bags and go live with her daughter... Mary was sullen and told the Doc I was wrong in sticking up for my GD that she was wrong and she was right.....Its the weird stuff that blows me away.... One doc says she has Alzheimer's another says she does not... To many Doc's in the pot me think.... Or maybe they are off.....When we talk and I do mean talk about this she does not see it and bust into what she calls tears and makes me feel like ******..... I don't need a drink every time my glass is empty..... Well maybe if it were Makers Mark I might like that she does this...LOLOL.... Now you must all think I am a very mean person and sorry..... Also at this time of year I miss my Mom who passed many years ago and my Brother Bob who died 1 1/2 years ago... But hey today is a better day and I will not be depressed.... So heres my book and I'm sticking to it....
Thanks for the ears...
Hugs,
Turtle with her head in shell.
Hiding Susan

Hi Susan, don't hide. Stay out and play with us! Please, please, please get a book called 'The 36 Hour Day'. It's the best book I've ever seen that deals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. It's written for the family members who live with them. It talks about many of their classic behaviors and explains why they do what they do a ways to deal with it. It's a life saver. Won't change their behaviors, but makes living with them much easier.
Deborah, thinking of you and your aunt Lisa.
Kim, are you cooking for an army? Wow, sounds like you have quite a production going on there.
Ok, back to my projects.....
Vent anytime Susan we all have those days and sometimes weeks things get to us.
I/
'm sorry you have lost family members this last year
now as to the crafts...LOL it's called working in sections ...hahaha did the cutting out of all the projects...then worked from there...BUT having last week off helped alot in getting things done ..so now I just have to work on what I stuff for. LOL
Susan, I'm sorry for the stresses that you are dealing with, you must be a Saint! Although I'm new to this forum, I can see how supportive everyone is here, and that this is an open place to vent... and we all need to sometimes.
Brenda
p.s. that stained glass piece is gorgeous!
Hi sisters, may what a chatty bunch you are. Well, ater 3 weeks Mike finally went back to work. Still can't get nothing done, cuz he's called me 5 times already, and is only working across the street so he will be home for lunch. I'm ready to pull my hair out.
Went to curves for my workout, and I have lost 61/2 pounds and 5 inches.
Little Flower my turkey baby died, it was so sad, but May and Pilgrim are still doing fine.
gotta ru, be back in a while
Phyllis are you sure that goes to Tinky's house? I would have sworn I saw a ladybug on a leaf and it was mine!!!!! LOL How is that for a hint?
Susan, any time we are here!! No hiding in a shell--you disappeared once for a while don't go do that again!! We send a group out looking for you this time. Vent, vent, vent it is good for the soul not to mention stress release. I certainly do it.
Brenda, so glad you have joined the ah hum--trying to think of an appropriate name here--group of ladies. Oh yeah! Sistah Hood of Sweet Interruptions. How could I forget that?
Poor Don, BJ, you work is definitely cut out for you. Hope Don gets to feeling better really soon--for your sake. LOL
Hey, Flamingo Kim try the filling you have--it might turn out to be really delicious. Anything with raspberries can't be bad, can it? You just might invite a new recipe without knowing it. My Kim made oatmeal cookies this weekend and happened to be out of raisins so she substituted crasins--oh my how good.
Debra post pics of the wreaths and don't you dare not post oodles of pictures of the wedding when it takes place. I for one will be after you big time. After all I was just the mother of the groom --you know--show up in beige with mouth sealed!!!
Donna from Jax, I guess you are getting the rains we have had since last Wednesday night. Once again it is so soggy here, leaves wet and slippery and acrons coming down so hard it is necessary to wear a hard hat outside.
Well need to go check on a few things but will be back later.
