I would SO oops if I tried that. My woodys are quaking at the thought.
Northeast Gardening: Garden Photos - Part 45
probably better off that way. It's easier to avoid the temptation to use it!
I'm always careful with my woodies.
Rotflol...... ohhh #$%@ I had to change my reply after that.

Of course I was referring to my trees and shrubs...^_^
Victor, Victor, Victor (shaking head)
well...you should probably be careful with the other kind as well ;-)

*sheesh*
Thanks for the laughs---and for the primula & wildflower! I drew some black-eyed Susans for the book I'm illustrating, & even that made me feel better! And looking at the new catalogs! Am waiting for some perennial to capture my heart---Coconut Lime didn't do it for me this year--I think we had too much rain---it loked rusty.
Shelly has the bloom photo again - for tomorrow! Nice dicentra shot.
Wow, nice shot! I was wondering if the leaves were really a golden color, thanks for the answer!
When they first come out they are. There is a cultivar that keeps a brighter color.
The contrast of red stems and golden leaves is very stunning.
You don't grow it, Celeste?
Nope, mine both have green leaves, one white one and one pinkish-red.
No, I meant bleeding heart in general, not Golden Heart.
You should try the formosa type, if you haven't yet. They bloom forever and can take more sun and heat.
Thank you for the info...not to worried about too much heat.....not here anyways. lol
Nothing blooming in my yard but birds.
These are not good shots, just interesting since I took them while sitting at the computer, about 10 feet away from the dirty glass doors. The blue bird house is about 6 feet from the deck, which is another 12 feet, so all in all the bluebird was probably about 28 or 30 feet away, and don't forget, through glass doors that have not been cleaned in awhile. (left the date on so I wouldn't forget)
So here's the bluebird blossom.....
Too cold to go outside, or I would have been out there cleaning those doors!
But there was sunshine....
Hope your December is going well.
Thanks again for the laughs everyone. I haven't read something that funny for a while.
Pixie you should see if you can get ahold of that Dicentra, it's well worth it I think. Mine do start out a little brighter initially than when they die, but for me they are never a muted or pale yellow. They're always fairly bright. What I have noticed is that some of the ones known to be'gold hearts' have pink blooms and some have almost red blooms, like mine in the picture. So, I'm not sure if that's a factor of the amount of sunlight they're getting or if there are some different colored strains of it running around.
Sharran, I love your "blossoms." They're much brighter and more interesting than most. I especially like the blue one.
Thank you Shelly, I think i'll look into it!
Oh Sharran you can post those blooms anytime. Those are my favorite winter blossoms!! Lovely!!!
Very nice, Sharon.
I have been wanting to see some bluebirds, Thanks, Sharon.
A family of cardinals have been in the back pines all summer. Had a huge flock of Cedar Waxwings in the mulberry this fall, but didn't have the camera handy. That was my first time seeing a bunch of them in the mulberry.
Beautiful blossoms, Sharon.
O sharran you have cardinals. I miss them :( Thanks for the pic.
Cardinals I love, too...glad to share mine with you. I am watching a chickadee right now, he hasn't settled down yet, but seems to be arguing with a titmouse. They are great winter color, a pick up on dreary days. No sign of snow here, lots of sunshine, but so cold for old bones.
Y'all have a good weekend.
I'm having a tiff with my chickadees at the moment. They are stashing hords of sunflower seeds in the chinks in my log cabin gard shed which tend to 'rain' on me and are going to attract Damien the Spawn of Satan Treerat for sure. They've always stuck to the evergreen trees for their stashes before. I wonder what's up.
They always know something you dont Daliah.
Maybe the evergreens are due to dissapear .
:O :O O I will defend my evergreens with my ninja powers!!!! I think maybe Bert the challenged blue jay might be raiding their stashes in the trees and he's not coordinated enough to hang off the side of the shed. Bert has issues with Chick and Dee taking all the sunflower seeds and leaving just the corn for him.
O- - - - K - - - - .
Sounds like you have everything under controle there.
yupper getting a little punchy here. Thank goodness only 16 more sleeps til spring ^_^
